So when Ableton says, "Audio performance has been optimized for Macintosh computers", they don't mean Altivec? I see about 1/3 less cpu drain on average for my Powerbook. Something got optimized if not Altivec? they posted somewhere that Altivec code is more or less difficult to keep thin...

i suggest getting familiar with some good VST or AU effects instead of the built-in Live ones to save some cpu. don't use Live's reverb. or the extreme mac solution might be to sell your laptop (unless you need that portability) buy a used G4 tower and slap an upgrade chip in it. you can go as low a...

geez, i don't think you'll be able to hit the ceiling on your dual 2.5 . not with Live4. besides, who needs 40 tracks with reverb on each? lol nobody, i hope. ;)
