^^My first thought when I heard that DNA wasn't a hoax/vapor ware was "how cool would it be to integrate that functionality into the warping of an audio file?" So when you drag something into Live, the sample analysis both does traditional warping and Melodyne stuff in the background.. Wit...

Since we are talking about MIDI stuff, I think a razor tool like Fruity loops has is one of those basic things that should be easy to implement and prove quite useful for stuff like this:

All I know is that Soulwax use Faderfoxes for their live set, and I am 90% sure I saw the guy using them having Ableton Live on his computer screen.

Melodyne 2's Direct Note Access

Ableton has been making some pretty ground-breaking alliances lately. I think this one would be an awesome addition. Now that we´ve gotten(basically) everything people wanted for Live 8, it's time to find some new, totally unrealistic goal for Ableton to miraculously make a reality. I recommend coll...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8jmLec_wEc Seeing this played live (probably for one of the first times they played that song) in a local venue back in 2000, 2001....since then I´ve made a point to catch this band whenever they play, just to hear that song again. Opened up so many musical doors for ...

I think with version 8 Ableton has really done the smart thing - instead of trying to surpass all the other DAW's by being better than they at what they do, they´ve added so many features to the original concept that made Live so popular - realtime control and freestyle composition. So they may not ...

A great suggestion that *should* be easy to implement in the beta stage.

Bravo. Didn't think of that.

Aw fuck it, let´s just sidechain EVERYTHING!!! And then sidechain another instance of Live to modulate the entire project.

Did you move or delete the audio file that the vocal sample clip references?

Try using the search options if you moved it....

Either way, creating your own groove files is a breeze, so the non-suite version should still groove like a Mofo once you've extracted the timing info from some relevant source material.

one thing i don't see any mention of is, and that would be crucial for live performance and dj-ing, if you can 'time shift / beat match' [not shure what the correct name is of what i mean] on the fly manually, this was not possible without crackles before... you know those little corrections like t...

Another thing though, kinda like an additional (almost completely safe) backup service isn't it? Indeed. Still, you have to wonder how long before someone hacks this service and leaks some big name artist's work in progress... If songs aren't safe in studios, they sure as hell won't be on servers c...

I´m really glad they went in the integrated hardware/software live performance/DJ-ing direction with Live 8 instead of trying to assault ProTools position in the traditional recording market. Everything that Ableton has done with this upgrade, from the program itself to Max for Live to the controlle...

And then a few months from now it´ll be "oh there's a MAX patch on Ableton Share that does just that!" :)
