When faced with a similar situation (my first time playing out, never played for that many hours at a time before), I decided the best way to find out would be to practice playing at home for that many hours. So I did. It worked great.

Do I understand correctly that you're running your tracks with the volume faders at -0 so any little change puts you in the red?

Oh wow, I remember Automat! I played with it years in a less stable version, eventually gave up on it when I standardized on a Windows system, but it always made nice sounds.
