Re: Splitting/dividing midi notes
I changed my mind on this, sort of. If you’re deliberately splitting notes, fine. But if you’re splitting a clip, no. I just have never had the need to split notes. I play them in and I want them to stay the way I played them.

Re: recording a gig into Live
You won’t blow the tube, that’s just the way tubes work. As they heat up, they start to sound different. Saggy is the way it’s usually described. There are sag settings on many amp sims.

Re: Sync Live across computers?
BTW. Live and Studio One are the only DAWs I haven’t had major issues with working this way.

Re: Sync Live across computers?
I keep all my songs and user library on a NAS box. Works like a charm the vast majority of the time. You do have to deal with some lag before the library appears and be careful to explicitly save (don’t save as you quit). This allows me to work from several computers and as the NAS box is mirrored a...

Re: Ableton Live 10 Intro Audio without an Audio Interface
Technically speaking, no you can’t. However, if what you mean is can you use the internal audio interface, then yes, you can do that.

Re: Best method for saving takes you might want later
Thanks! After realizing I can create folders in the clips section, I find that a lot less cluttered. I'm startled I never thought of it before.

Re: Splitting/dividing midi notes
According to the way most people work, this would not be an essential feature, but a bug.

Best method for saving takes you might want later
As of now, I take guitar and bass tracks, generally ones that have good ideas but don't cut it overall, and put them on another track. In some cases, I'll "archive" to another folder or some such. And sometimes I'll just move them on the same track beyond the portion of the timeline contai...

Re: Can’t edit anything
I'm a moron. I have several audio interfaces, not aggregated, but it was turning one off and not selecting the other that disabled all the record related stuff. Don't do that. Aggregating now.

Re: Any way to move from clip to clip using just the keyboard?
I generally select them to set the start/end loop markers for recording. Just a habit from Logic, though I can still do it two-handed in Ableton holding shift. Problem is, I quite often have an instrument in hand. I'll stick with the loop start/end in the control bar. Thanks for the patience.

Re: Any way to move from clip to clip using just the keyboard?
Maybe I'm missing something. That will move a clip, but not select the next one. I want so jump between the clips, selecting them in turn. I wish I could change that title as the world jump might be clearer.

Re: Can’t edit anything
This may have had something to do with trying to delete unused files from a NAS box. It has no trash can, and the files wouldn’t delete. Moving the project to a local disk, then deleting the unused files seemed to cure the issue.

Can’t edit anything
All the record buttons and clip content in the editor is grayed out. Obviously I did something, but I don’t know what. It was not intentional.
