I did the exact same route you proposed, one scene for each track with separate 'channels' for each instrument. The first disadvantage seemed that Ableton Live seemed to have more workload with those long files loaded, maybe this is complete shit. But seems reasonable especially when you have instru...

I bet it will yet take some months or at least weeks until somebody will buy the collection for funky 800 friends in the pocket®. So presumably no review before christmas:).

Well, I'd truly love a lifetime upgrade option for Live if there was one. I'd even take it for free if I had to. I also like the Fruity concept - you say once and receive updates forever. Not only bugfixes. Have there been true extensions of features on older upgrades within a version life of Live (...

Nevertheless. People going crazy because of something not even visible at the horizon is weird. Apart from bugfixes, is it - as a whole - to be expected that you get free updates on the software you bought with true feature enhancements? I am just asking, Live was one of my first software pieces eve...

For a word. You freaks talk about such an 8 version where none seems in sight for me. Did I miss something and are plans for a fresh version already set/said?
If not, why are you then bitching about a hypothetic software release and the related marketing strategies of Ableton?

Reading this thread, I get really curious about the flash drive thingy, as you report so much speed enhancement. I have read that the Buffalo Firestix might be even faster - did anyone test one of those expensive bars?`Those sticks don't occupy yet two USB ports at the same time if they are placed b...

Thankyouthankyouthankyou. That is a quite even more practical approach. Yes, that nulls the work down to at least the same amount of clicking in a whole. Even better than what I had thought of, for sure.
Thanks for your kind thoughts :) .

Yes, of course. But this includes - in my opinion - a little work beforehand. Especially when it comes to the dozens of dozens VST plugins I have. It is more a problem with VST effect plugins, as in most cases an instrument's default state without playing it is - mute.

Let me get it right: scenario 1 is that you press ctrl+drag the instrument, the instrument is there, disabled. Does not work currently. Scenario 2 is that you drag an instrument rack onto a channel, disable it (if you don't preconfigure it) and THEN insert the real instrument. That is a bit more wor...

Yeah, Nokatus, this is at least a work-around. Unfortunately still needs some few more clicks to get a disabled insertion. It is good to know that there are ways to do it. A simple shift+drag or ctrl+drag would ease the whole process though, this is why I placed this thread into the wishlist forums....

Do you mean: adding an empty rack, turning it off and adding the instruments then and tweaking them before enabling them? This could work with instruments, but adding an effect onto an existing/running instrument stil fails the way I want it - muted.
Thanks for the tip:).

I will have to try it again. I believe I did it & didn't have success with CTRL.
Apart from loading each and every effect and instrument and saving it muted as the default state (which does not work for VST plugins!?) it would be quite easy to have it implemented the way I suggested it.
