It can be really dark up on stage and hard to see. I'd be practising in minimal lighting to ensure that you can see your controller and keyboard. Spare cables are a must, I take combinations of various cables as you never know what inputs you will be faced with. Cable adapters can get you out of tro...

I cant get over how many people have canned the M-Audio gear. I've been toying with the idea of buying a 410 as I can use it with proTools m-powered but now I'm scared....very scared.

Adelaide / Sth Australia Live User Group

Hell, everyone else is doing it! What about good ol Adelaide. I work for a studio in the city, so we could use the main studio as our meeting place which is central (I'm sure they wont mind!). Could extend this to include Reason and possibly Pro Tools. Drop me a line through my website or leave your...

i'm actually in the market for a laptop, solely to run Ableton for djing / producing purposes. I'mve been really wishy washy about what to go with...a g4 Powerbook or a non-Apple laptop. i have about $2000 grand to spend on it and am not very knowledgable about notebooks. Anyone have any non-Apple ...

Intel 855GM Vs PM Vs GME Chipsets

Hey, I'm a slightly nervous mac guy thats about to take the plunge into uncharted waters (for me anyway) and buy a PC (Dell Inspiron Notebook). I'm wondering if anyone knows which of the Intel Centrino chipsets (855GM, PM or GME) is best for use or has a better record of reliability with Ableton Liv...

Ok, so it looks like Melbourne for you. Your next choice will be to pick a football (Aussie Rules AFL) team. May I suggest Port Power [url]http://portadelaidefc.com.au/[url/] Winning Team, classy supporters, catchy club song and you're certain to standout in a Melbourne crowd sporting one of their j...

Cheers guys.

Mp3 support isn't much of a priority for me and it appears my old G4 will still do what I need so Live it is!

Xmas = holiday work bonuses = new software to play with over xmas!

great feedback rs, thanxs. I think that if Live can do everything that Traktor can do with regards to dj mixing, even though the approach is different, then I'm leaning towards Live. It appears it will add more to my overall studio functionality than Traktor especially using it with Pro Tools and Re...

Live3 or Traktor Studio OR Both??

After almost 2 years of organising groups of people to play live sets at various clubs only to watch the whole thing disintergrate after 2 or 3 gigs due to personality clashes, I've decided that the best way for me to move forward would be to DJ my own music mixed with others. I would like to do thi...

LIVE-Suitable Rewire Host for Reason & ProTools User?

Hi, I currently use Pro Tools LE and Reason on a Digi001 on a G4 Mac. I'm sick to death of PT not having rewire support and I'm now looking for a rewire host. Considering I've been looking at LIVE as a possibility for my gigging setup, i was wondering if there is any news or opinions regarding multi...
