I'm looking for a way to make video of my desktop. Sort of like using "grab" but instead of picture, I need video.

I think my 250 GB firewire(FW400) drive is on its last leg, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a new one.

It would have to be around 300-400 GB, with a fast seek time, and obviously able to handle audio.

I do not have the Live issue, but I'd be happy to part with my Computer Music Cubase issue with the cd if anyone wants that. It came out in late 2005; Very useful.

doesnt sound too bad, although I'm worried about Native Instruments. Their installs and authorizations all ready suck bad enough without having to deal with compatibility upgrades.

yo, I was thinking of switching to os x.4 so i can use Pro Tools 7, but i don't want to have to reinstall all of my plug ins, programs, etc. Is it possible to install 10.4 and keep all the old programs? 50 extrz cds yes, but the sets themselves are 1400 miles away on a different computer. On my Dad's computer, and my dad(bless his heart) is just not computer literate enough to hook me up.
Oh well, just have to wait a bit for them.

it comes up as a CD_ROM XA in disk utility.

can't get it to burn, or copy or load though. It just teases me.
