Re: Max4Live released soon? New video uploaded by AbletonInc
it's 32bit per channel. as in, a 32bit mono sound. and it's not "steps", it's "bits", to not missinterpret it with that stepsequencer in here. as it has nothing to do with that.

Re: rescan midi inputs?
yeah, thought so. but i can't use traktor pro yet as it lacks the features i use from traktor 3..marue wrote:In the actual traktor pro it's an automatic reconnect. No buttons to click.
But i agree. Even a manual rescan button would be better than what we have now.

Re: Max4Live released soon? New video uploaded by AbletonInc
uhm, no, those steps of a step sequencer have NOTHING to do with the bits per sample of the audio. nothing, not even close to. the audio has 44100 or 48000 or even more "steps" per second in maximum. each of those represented in 32bits (or 16bits or what ever), and not "for two channe...

Re: A question for the Ableton developers (or anyone interested)
yeah, and it would explain why Aero, UAC and ableton for a long time (and now on win7 again) never really got together well... as this was known with opengl apps, but mostly not a problem as they're normally fullscreen (a.k.a. games). never thought it could be opengl myself, though. only used it for...

Re: Max4Live released soon? New video uploaded by AbletonInc
O.K. i guess they got me with this one - though i`d like to know if you are able to use more than 16 Steps no sorry. max is 32 bit, ergo 16 bit per channel (left and right). step sequencers work by one bit per step, so 16 bits (for stereo 32 bit) is 16 steps. only is you work in mono will you be ab...

Re: rescan midi inputs?
traktor couldn't do it by itself for quite a while, but had it in an update of traktor 3, i think. for a midi device, you have to manually disable and enable midi in traktor to get the device "heard" again. but while annoying, it's just a twice-doubleclick on the midi-input. at least the m...

Re: Max4Live released soon? New video uploaded by AbletonInc
they just have to get it out finally! even just as a beta, who cares? i hope, really much, that they get a release done the end of next week. why? because i would have holidays for a week after next week :) i'm currently stuck in ableton, not being able to use it for live performances till max4live ...

Re: Depeche Mode: so macs reliable enough to use in stadiums...?
well, for such bands, money is mostly no problem, so getting all macs, which are the defacto standard, does make sence. they're not computer gurus mostly, so why should they care? they just want that thing that works for all the other bands, and that is a mac. personally, i don't use macs, but i kno...

i got the axis-49. tiny, flexible and portable, but still "full range".
but completely different to play, obviously (but quite nice once you get used to it)

I'm a programmer and a musician, giving me the ability to do sort of both at the same time will be awesome for me.. and fix some of the most glaring problems i have.

Re: Not sure if you caught this, Live pack and MFL examples
much more important: when will it be available? or a beta, at least.. i'm currently in need of a special plugin, and a bit annoyed of starting to code a vst plugin if, soon after, i could set the whole thing easily up in MFL (and i know it would be possible and much more easy in MFL..) it's annoying...

Re: Ableton Live with SSD Drives? Fast and secure files theory
I have got an ssd about 3/4 years ago, and since then replaced all my hdd's save the homeserver with ssds. they are awesome. I've now switched on my laptop to the intel x18-m (same as x25-m but other size, as i have a 12" notebook). I know it makes a huge difference when installing ableton, and...

Re: Loudness war - over-compressed and over-maximized music
funny, in my family, it's my dad (with over 50). i'm the one with only some gb of buyed music from beatport and itunes plus. and cd's. and vinyl. for me, the compressing and maximising and in general mastering of a track is the hardest part. anyone knows some good resources on how to do it? personal...

Re: L8 uses 30% more CPU than L7 - hope it's just the beta!
no, but behind the scenes, bug reports do happen. and here, we talk about it. that's the reason for the forum. some get angry and all, this is all fine. never was different on any other forum anywhere in the world wide web.
