Re: portable interface for live use question

Most lap tops today have actually fairly half way decent built in interfaces.... capable of doing 24 bit 96,000 recordings. The only issues that I have heard of would be with ground loop feedbacks but if you don't have that I don't think anyone including yourself would know the difference.

Re: Master output

I don't see why you'd want to saturate other people's music if you're a dj.... it would definitely make a lot of sense to give yourself a small boost and limit due to the fact that the signal from ableton will be weaker then say, a cd player or a turn table so if you're gonna play in a club you'd be...

Re: Performing & Switching Between 'Live' Sets

Yes you definitely want to have one big liveset..... the way to do this is to first of all follow a similar pattern when making your tracks... for example.... first track drums, second track bass, and then 8 more tracks max for a song.... Then what you should do to make it very stable and easy on cp...

Re: RELEASE: Rus-FX (Live Performance FX) Version 2.0 [MAC/PC]

Another thing is: Some xy pad controllers (like korg padKONTROL) ONLY send the x and the y messages, but no touch message Actually, using the editor you can configure the pad to send one. It's just inactive by default. M. Hey great tip! I did not know this or think to try it... thanks a bunch! Than...

Re: RELEASE: Rus-FX (Live Performance FX) Version 2.0 [MAC/PC]

Thanks man, I was originally gonna do it with knob controls... then was gonna do pads so the pressure change would turn a knob.... but I decided the best would be to do an xy pad because you have so much more control

:-D

Re: RELEASE: Rus-FX (Live Performance FX) Version 2.0 [MAC/PC]

Good to hear... would it make sense to add a couple more controls to it like FX Tail amount?

Also, what kind of fx would you guys like to be added to the rack?

Re: Live situation

Uuuh I would highly suggest getting into flattening all the tracks in your songs and then triggering those... this way you can trigger any part of any track at any given time. It's not nearly as hard as it seems and it will give you a lot of control over where you want your performance to go.. Also ...

Re: RELEASE: Rus-FX (Live Performance FX) Version 2.0 [MAC/PC]

Yea it was really designed to be used with a controller with 16 pads where each pad will send a cc message with a specific value... most of them allow you to do this...

It works well enough with a rotary encoder, I can see why it'd be too sensitive with a regular knob though :)

Thanks for trying...

Re: boostin volume..compression ? limiter? in which tk to put ?

Uhm it really depends on the track... I used to like to add some very mild saturation which bumped up the volume drastically... also limiting is probably the best.... What I usually do is I have all my parts playing right below red line (well depending on the part).... but I saturate my drums by a b...

RELEASE: Rus-FX (Live Performance FX) Version 2.0 [MAC/PC]

http://audio-ruso.com/RusFX.jpg It has come to my attention that I made a HUGE mistake in the previous version. By using a limiter on the effects rack I actually allowed the original signal to bleed through which ruined the racks. I didn't even notice at first... Anyways, so in case you don't know,...
