Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
Installed 9.0.4 and deleted my 1.4 go database file ... Full scanning took me exactly 12 hours and 18 minutes instead of 14 hours with 9.0.1. DO YOU REALLY THINK IT'S WHAT YOU CAN CALL "IMPROVEMENT" ON INDEXING ???? Live 9.0.4 indexing STILL sucks big time and is ridiculously slow compare...

True.zeepster wrote:But .asd doesn't mean scanned
.asd means "previewed/warped"
The live 9 scanning process only create and index of 'ableton-readable' files in folders/subfolder (like .wav, .mp3,.rx2 etc...) but no .asd are created during indexing.

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
I can't grasp why they don't allow us to use windows folder shortcuts and why oh why we can't simply stop indexing?? Just make it optional ON, or OFF and be done with it..Everyone pleased.. I'm just guessing, but I would assume its because...they can't :-) IMO, Ableton made a decision to move to th...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
naahh, that are many files. i tried it again with another folder i dint put inplaces. and now i recognized the indexing symbol. but it disappeared after 5 seconds. Maybe i just didnt recognized it when i put my main sample folder in places. Does the indexing affect the performance/cpu usage? Well y...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
thx 4 the reply, but i downloaded live 9, installed it, added the folder and it was there, no 3 hours of waiting. so is my library not indexed yet? Indexation is still running if you have the icon on the left ot the "PLACES" label. Once it finished the icon disapear. Yes it does instantly...

Live 9 trial 9.0.2 not starting at all
Installed 9.0.2 trial over 9.0.1 trial.
9.0.2 didnt show up.
Cleaned everything, re-installed, same problem.
Live 9 Trial.exe is there in the process list, eating 50% of CPU, but nothing show up ...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
Just noticed today that the new browser is limited to 2 collumns : one for the name, and the other user-selectable. That's very annoying. In Live 8 I always used name + date modified + size collumns to find my samples, now I always have to switch the 2nd collumns from 'date' to 'size' to do the same...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
Hi, To answer a few questions from this thread: - Offering a 'don't scan this folder' feature is not simple and not a quick fix. The browser is build to display data from a database, only. We can imagine a way to display data from the file system only, but this has to be considered as a feature of ...

Re: Live 9 browser NIGHTMARE !!!
That's understood. Our first priority is to make the indexing work as we envision it. To repeat: to make the indexer work faster, and less taxing on the CPU. We dont need it to work faster, because with 2.5To of data, faster would not even be fast enough. We need it to work *smarter* : being able t...
