Re: iPad

MacBook Pro with Retina = DROOL

Butt... 256GB is too small. 512GB is good, butt... $2800 is too much.

Oh well. I don't mind sitting this out for a generation or two.

But yeah... DROOL 8O

Re: MOTU Track 16- isnt it the best design to date?

Okay. I was confused for a second there. The Track16 has FW400 on an FW800 shaped port. I thought it was the mini-FireWire ports you used to see on miniDV cameras.

Re: MOTU Track 16- isnt it the best design to date?

The main thing I'm thinking about is eventually having some sort of line in and ADAT dedicated device for my studio and just being able to plug in the 16 Track via ADAT for working in the studio etc. This is what I do currently. I have an RME OctaMic II with all of my mics and line ins plugged into...

Re: MOTU Track 16- isnt it the best design to date?

Two inputs don't cut it. Give me ADAT I/O or I won't bite. It has ADAT I/O. http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/track16/io.html I was referring to the Apogee Duet 2. I wish Apogee had a compact interface that filled the gap between the Duet and the Ensemble. They don't, so I went with a Fireface...

$549 USD

The guitar input on the device doesn't bother me. I like the mini line input on the front too. An easy place to plug in Animoog.

Re: MOTU Track 16- isnt it the best design to date?

Agreed. I'm tempted by this as well. Thinking of selling my Fireface UC and my Central Station, buying one of these, and banking away the extra cash. I would miss the RME sound though, and the easy aux switching of the Central Station. Been waiting for Apogee to come out with something like this, bu...

Re: iPad

Apple TV 2 in essence is lame, but the AirTime feature of beaming the stuff onyour iPhone or iPad to the big screen is still really awesome. Beats: I hear ya, but I only have one of these remotes, and it got two drops of water on it and DIED. It was sitting next to our other remotes, which also got ...

Re: iPad

The Apple TV needs SOMETHING to make it more worthwhile. I learned this week that without its janky hardware remote, you can't relink it to a new network.

Re: OT: Cycling ... as in... riding bikes... as in... bicycles

Oh hai. Welcome back, tek. Hope the injury is chilling out. As you may recall, I stopped riding my bike a few years ago (back when this thread was created). I still don't ride, but I may start skateboarding again. It's a good way to get really injured really quickly, but I plan on going dork-style....

Re: RIP Adam Yauch

beatmunga ... your views are nothing but noise. You are the sound of static. The Beasties rule. They've always ruled. Licensed to Ill is an incredible album. It's arrogant and silly, and an unknockable classic. Make a basic beat that sounds anywhere as huge as the beats on Licensed. Go ahead. Post ...
