MacBook Pro, 2009 models support up to 8GB of RAM.
There are 16 GB chip sets available but Apple officially announced that the new MBP's don't support them.

I have an Apogee Duet and it really works and sounds great, but I'm going to purchase the RME FireFace UC soon because I need more I/O's.

Re: padKontrol vs. MPD
16 banks, 256 pads, ultra sensitive pads, X/Y controller, 2 assignable rotary knobs, easy intuitive librarian software. Beats any MPD out there ... period. Drawback Not enough slide faders, cc switches, and rotaries. Solution if there is extra cash APC-20/40 in combination with PadKontrol = Solid go...

Re: Looking for a pad controller, need advice.
I'm very happy with my Korg PadKontrol. It has 16 banks so that means 256 pads in total, I prefer the pads of the PadKontrol over the classic MPC pads and the Trigger Finger pads. The mini X/Y Pad is great too. The librarian software is very intuitive, very easy to set up. The minus is that it only ...

Re: Current Beta Version: Live 8.1.5b2 (updated July 22, 2010)
This beta version is very stable! Much more stable than the version 8.0.5. that I started with.
Loading times and audio handling seem to have improved as well.
Keep up the great work.

8.1.5b1 is ultra stable! So was 8.1.4, 8.1.3 was buggy.

Re: To Gerhard Behles, Dennis DeSantis, and company.....
Live has been great for me. The only versions that didn't work for me were 5.2.2, 6.0.4 and 8.0.5. It's been smooth sailing otherwise. The application does quit from time to time, but I never lose any work. Okay, that's it. I know some people will call me a fan boy, but I can live with that. Keep up...

The Bridge Ableton - Serato ...When???
I recently downloaded Scratch Live 2.0.0 and I was hoping to see The Bridge integrated into this version.
Does anyone (hopefully the Ableton forum administrators) have any official info about this ambitious project?
Oh yes, do you need a TTM-57 mixer for The Bridge??
Thank you.

Re: How solid is Live8 for you?
The Live versions 8.0.5 until 8.0.8 were really dodgy for me. I had a 30 minute show last summer and I was praying that Live 8.0.5 wouldn't crash on me because usually this version would shut down 5-10 minutes within a show. Thank goodness it didn't crash, but I was just very lucky. Starting from 8....
