Great thread. I (like I'm sure many not involved in the beta testing) am wondering how stable it is to see if it's worth upgrading while the offer is on. I'm particularly interested in how it performs with the big third party vsts. Would love to hear about more live 9 experiences wrt stability !

+1 +any new mouse finctionality, like scrollwheel zoom.

It's all I want from live 9. Literally - if there was nothing else new in live 9 but this, I'd be happy. That's how much I need this, or think I need it or well... just plain want it. It would be really easy to implement as well.

+1 this would be awesome, but I'm guessing just a pipe dream. If ableton bought a quality effects company like sonnox or waves or voxengo and replaced their inbuilt effects with these - that's the closest I can see us getting high quality fx built into live's user flow.

Of course it's all personal preference here, but to my ears Waves Gtr is the best sim and it has the best interface. Ik multimedia stuff is very dodgy with live - I avoid it. Softube amp sims are also good, but waves + soundtoys effects covers everything I need.

Only cracked versions of Live are. Rubbish. On a separate note, I find live 8 crashes regularly (especially projects crashing on load) but I've learnt to live with it. Wow - I'm surprised I'm the only one interested in this. Am I missing something here? How do you guys not get annoyed by this?

I've owned automap since it was first released- it's nothing but a frustrating, complicated waste of time in my opinion, (an opinion i came to after years of trying to get it to work well). It doesnt. With ableton I'd recommend turning it off and using live's mapping for getting control of parameter...

Given that it takes a few months to iron out bugs, it seems sensible to just wait until next year to get it heavily discounted, especially as id say there's nothng 'essential' in the update.
