Re: Send/Receive between M4L and Max
messages : udpreceive : port (int) udpsend : port (int) / host (symbol) yes, that changes what happens to ALL data sent to the udp* device. I am talking about the ability to do it PER message such as what you can do with [forward[ With udpsend you can't say "send .00152 to 127.0.0.1 port 53423...

Re: bouncing in live
To share with a collaborator you can "collect all and save" and send them the folder (as a zip perhaps). Or you can freeze, then flatten each track and send them that. or export as stems and send them that.

Yeah but that changes it globally for the udpsend versus per message like what you can do with [forward]broc wrote:Not sure what you mean. In fact, both can be changed with 'host' and 'port' messages.synnack wrote:The IP and port of udpsend can't be changed within a patch.

Re: Send/Receive between M4L and Max
udpsend/udpreceive is great but I do wish there was an option like the forward object where you can change the destination on the fly. The IP and port of udpsend can't be changed within a patch. Otherwise i'm always impressed at how much data I can slam through OSC without any noticeable lag.

Re: Send/Receive between M4L and Max
are you talking about send~ and receive~ for audio?
The normal [send] and [receive] objects to send data between patches or devices works great in M4L. I use it constantly.

Re: Analogue Synth Reccomendations
cheers for the words, I'm not looking to spend a lot at allmaybe $200-$300 so super basic. Just want something to physically prgram rather than turning knobs on a screen all the time! I'm a huge fan of analog synths (*cough* https://www.ableton.com/en/pages/artists/clint_sand/) but this is an odd r...

Re: M4L video export?
you can modify the device itself to use a jit.qt.record, or use an external like syphon to get it out.

Re: recording multiple tracks at once in session view
why not just arm all the tracks you want to record on? not quite as simple as a group but surely one click per track you want to record on isn't "so much time"?

Re: easiest way to export warped clips from session view ?
You could also just drag the clip to arrangement view and do the normal File/Export. Start dragging clip, hit tab, drop clip. Then file export.
You could also use the "Resampling" source on a track. and resample the clips you want out of Live into that clip, then drag that one to desktop.

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton
Ahhh thanks guys. 1) What about panning though? Can that be left till the end (ie part of the mastering process)? Or should I be panning things like percussion during the mixing process itself? From what I've learnt so far, panning is just to give your music a spacious feel right? 2) Are there any ...

Re: Izotope Ozone in Ableton
Hey thanks for your reply. What I was wondering was if these Izotope Ozone functions could successfully replace and remove the need for using Ableton's in-built EQ plug ins and compressor plug ins? No. Use Ozone only for mastering. If you use an instance of Ozone all over individual tracks just to ...
