macro controls automap? you can have it with virtually every controller in live...

never use fx for the sake of using them.
compressor and eq can be used to either fix problems or creatively destructing the source material, so you have to have an idea of what you are trying to achieve.

the obvious choice would be soundcard -> kp3 -> mixer any soundcard will do there is also an option to route audio to kp3 then back into live, so you can choose which tracks you want to affect with kp3. in this case you need a soundcard with 4 outs (1+2 to mixer and 3+4 to kp3) and at least 2 inputs...
