Re: Bass Fluctuation
Since it's happening in Massive and not in Operator it sounds like it might just be a difference in the internal working of the two synths. It might be that the oscillators in Massive are free-running and those on Operator are not, meaning that in Massive the oscillator wave is running continuously ...

Re: Help! How do you make a pitch riser that stays in key?
if one element's pitch rises like in the example you posted, it is most definitely not "staying in key". But that doesn't matter as long as that's the effect you're after. Certainly it might start and end at suitable notes in the key of the song (this is where the pitch bend range might co...

Re: Paid Ableton and Cracked Plugins?
ahem, there's plenty of great free plugins and you can make "edm" perfectly fine with Live's built-in instruments and fx if you really don't have the money.

The Max for Live device I use is made by Robert Henke and is called Control Change 8. You can get it from this page:

Very handy.

Re: enveloppe sending midi cc
You mean a clip envelope or an automation (arrangement page) envelope? The latter can't normally send midi cc but there are max4live devices that give this option. A clip envelope should be able to send midi cc's.

Re: Understanding compression
Numerically, how do you know what amount of the input signal is affecting the threshold? I've read many tutorials, and it seems like it's a bit of a guessing game with the gain reduction meter. For instance, my threshold could be -10db, ratio 2:1, and then I see a gain reduction of 4db. It just see...

Re: Stacking drums in arrangement view
you could also consider using seperate tracks for each sound. I sometimes prefer this method because it's easier to see what's going on in arrangement view. (then I just put all the drum sound tracks in a group or a couple of groups).

Re: What game are you playing now
Didn't have much work to do lately so played a bit of games... Finished Zelda Twilight Princess (was playing this together with my girlfriend who really liked it. She's now starting Skyward Sword on her own :)) Finished X-COM enemy Unknown on PC. Great game, quite hard (and I played on only the medi...

Ones I use often for my daily work (TV/web video/ad/promo production) are Audionetwork and Extreme Music. (or Audio Jungle for really low-budget projects, though there's some decent stuff in there, you've got to dig for it)

Re: Needed advice to train my ear for subtle changes.
A year is not very long to train your ear to hear stuff like this (although it depends on how much time you spent producing in that year of course). Don't worry too much about it, and it's probably best to don't think about "mastering" yet at all. Just try to make your mixes sound as good ...

Re: Audible stepping in midi CC's from clip envelopes *FIXED*
I think it was some kind of driver or hardware issue with my soundcard (SonicCore Scope PCI card) which is also the midi interface. I reinstalled the driver and reseated the card in the computer and now it works smoothly again, even on the lower latency setting.

Re: Audible stepping in midi CC's sent from clip envelopes
Allright I think it must be something with my interface. I changed it's latency setting to something higher and now it seems to work properly again...
Not sure why that setting would influence it's handling of midi but it sure seems like this fixed it.

Re: Audible stepping in midi CC's sent from clip envelopes
Yeah fair enough but I've checked and it's not that. Actually I have now also tried modulating the M4L device with the clip envelope and this gives an even worse result. Very large and audible skipping in the sweep. But for some reason I cannot now reproduce the smooth result I seemed to get when us...
