Re: NI's new 'stems' files in Live?

I just figured you'd drag it in from the browser and it'd create 5 audio tracks, one per stem and the master. That'd be fine for my needs.

NI's new 'stems' files in Live?

In case you've not heard of it, NI has released this new 'stem' file system today, where the file extension is .stem.mp4, and the file includes a mixed master which will play on any MP4-capable player, but also 4 separate stems that make up the track. They are selling it as a DJ-tool mostly, but I'v...

Re: Looking for a partner :)

Hi Chaps, reading this got me thinking... maybe if you find a few people who are up for this as well as partnering up and collaborating directly you could make a small group of 4-6 people to share ideas, project files, words of encouragement and advice etc. Seems like it'd be good for motivation and...

Re: Surface 3 Bitwig prototype

Its not just the touch interface itself thats frustrating. I own push and Live suite 9, so I'm pretty committed to Live and I've only taken a cursory glance at bitwig out of curiosity, yet even I can tell you bitwig are working on a cool sounding modular environment and a touch interface, both of wh...

Re: Anyone running an Electribe ER-1 through Ableton?

I've used it for 'sections' before. So it might run the hats of a track, or some percy stuff, and done the rest in software. That way you get hardware tweaking (and you can use the automation record) on the ER1 for some things to add interest to a pattern. Doing the kick in ableton and running the E...

Re: Ableton compared to other DAWS

"Last time i spoke with them they didnt even know the meaning of the word DAW.". Disclaimer- I noodle around making music for my own shits and giggles rather than to sell. I think the quoted sentence sums up what a lot of people's problem is, they obsess over which DAW is better. Which synth is bet...

Re: PULL - iPad device controller - Speed up your workflow!

I tried the new files, still get the crash if I quit live, but its fine if I delete the pull plugin from the set before I quit. I sent the crash log to support as you suggested.

Re: PULL - iPad device controller - Speed up your workflow!

On a train at the moment trying to get this to work on an adhoc network and just can't get it to work at all. I've set the ip adresses (although there seems to be no way of altering the iPads port which seems stuck on 8000) but nothing happens when I press the "large" button. Do I need to delete th...

Re: PULL - iPad device controller - Speed up your workflow!

I went ahead and got this today, took about 10 minutes to set up. First impressions are: Bloody amazing! In combination with Push, you really can do almost everything mouse free. I love the ease of adding an audio effect with push to a channel, then having it appear on the ipad in pull for editing. ...

Re: iPad device controller - Speed up your workflow!

Sounding better and better! Very hard to get £ out of me since I got addicted to Eurorack gear, but this might just do it! Edit: One question, looking at the way this works will it follow and snap to the device you select through push? For example, if I have a chain of 4 devices on a channel and nav...

Midi clock to evolver sequencer? Always a different timing

I have Ableton putting out a midi clock to the evolver, which triggers the sequencer on the evolver in time, I'm also using the soundtower evolver VST to edit the patch in live. Problem I have is when I start ableton, the sequencer on the evolver seems to always be out by a different amount. I get a...

Midi clock 'jumping'?

I'm not really sure if it is jumping, but it sounds like it might be. I have midi-clock from ableton going to an ER1 through a USB midi interface, when I do things like edit parameters on a softsynth, or switch the focus device for Push the sound skips and jumps and stutters briefly. Is this an issu...

This looks perfect, but I cannot get the checkout/cart system to work on the website

I enter all my details for a billing address, then nothing happens when I try to submit it all.
