Re: B-Keeper live drummer tempo sync for Live
hi I've just gone through things and ensured that there are Java classes and the bonk~ windows external (bonk~.mxe) for B-Keeper to work correctly on Windows. I've made a setup video for this: http://youtu.be/OQF8KVgtcq4 and you would download now at www.github.com/venetian/b-keeper there are instal...

Re: ADVANCE TAP TEMPO: LIVE TO FOLLOW LIVE DRUMMER
B-Keeper is a good option If you want to try something new, check out BeatSeeker. www.github.com/venetian/beatseeker I've put both B-Keeper and BeatSeeker on Github. They are "third party beat detector things", but then I'm not sure of a way round that for the time being. I have however ma...

Re: Setting Abletons tempo from live drummer
So B-Keeper can work fine with MIDI too.
www.b-keeper.org/software/B-KeeperMIDIproject.zip
is a version for Roland MIDI kit. You can change to suit other drums by changing MIDI notes.

Re: B-keeper paramaters/settings explained more in detail
andrew.robertson@eecs.qmul.ac.uk - programmer It probably is a latency issue. If you want exact sync - try sending a click sound out (eg Ableton's own click that can be routed out say soundcard output 3). On another channel, bring that in, put through B-Keeper Click device (this is different), and t...

Re: B-Keeper max for live project
Yes, it looks for events on the main beats of the bar - one, two, three and four, adapting the window size to suit the playing style that's being observed. Hopefully with a good balance between response and stability!
thanks for the video link. Looks cool.

Re: using floats as MIDI notes in M4L?
it's limited per channel so for four notes - set up four MIDI channels of the smae instrument - set the pitchbend range - e.g. +- 12 semitone or 2 or whatever you prefer then keep track of the note sent to each channel and the precise value which might control the pitchbend as someone said above, MI...

Re: Ableton can do this?
just to say, the M4L version of B-Keeper uses Live's internal click so is simple to set up with just the drums as input. The old way (max standalone) had audio click input routed back in - as Live needs to communicate to Max somehow as to where it is in the bar. Hence the click in. Once that's in pl...

Re: B-Keeper:Drum Tracker for Ableton Live available to download
so is it the M4L device that you're using? That should be close to plug and play for anyone trying it - please try the demo files! - if they don't work then live drums won't either. They're available as links on the b-keeper.org website I'm sorry if I've not been able to make it easier to set up but...

Re: using floats as MIDI notes in M4L?
sure - you need to get the remainder between the float and nearest note so if you're playing note is say (integer) note and float is floatNote do something like: remainder = floatNote - note; pitchbend = 8192 * remainder;//to map [-0.5,0.5] onto the range [-8192 -> 8192] pitchbend += 8192;//so it ma...

Re: B-Keeper:Drum Tracker for Ableton Live available to download
I think that there's a demo of M4L available, so it's possible to try. I'd be interested to hear how that works. The MaxMSP standalone version is free, but harder to set-up. For VST, the question would be - what output can we send that's good to control tempo? My guess is that you'd have it send MID...

Re: B-Keeper:Drum Tracker for Ableton Live available to download
yes, you'd need the new MaxForLive environment to have it as a plugin. Worth doing as is too hard to set up in Max/MSP without some knowledge of Max I think. The plugin simply sits on a stereo track where the kick and snare are routed. Then it can access the transport of Ableton and compare to that....
