VISTA laptop for DJing with Live?

Hi guys. I'm shopping for a new laptop (not a Mac...don't have the cash) to use for DJing with Live. I have a Remote SL Zero and I plan to get the NI Audio Kontrol 1 as my interface. Lappy-wise, I was hoping to go with something like a new Toshiba and run Win XP on it. However, (some? all? of) the n...

Re: Anybody Selling a Live 7 Educational (Student) License?

I dont believe the educational licenses are re-sellable but I might have read that about one of the other softwares I own or looked into buying. Yep, they certainly are mate :) From the FAQ on ableton.com: In some cases, sellers attempt to transfer an educational license as if it were a full versio...

Re: make an exciter: get your high end sounding tight

I realize this is an older thread, but I stumbled across it earlier today while surfing the forums. I just spent a few minutes trying out this trick and I must say I am impressed. It gives my bass way more presence in the high-end and, thus, makes it sound much fuller. Sending me kick drum to the sa...

Anybody Selling a Live 7 Educational (Student) License?

I'm looking to buy a legit Live 7 Educational License (the one that full-time students can legally own). I don't quite have the $250 U.S. (for the download version) that Ableton.com is asking and, so, I was hoping to get a better price by buying a license off another student. No need to reply here! ...

Here we go! I plan to decide some time over the next couple of weeks whether to keep the Virus. http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs020.snc1/2643_70057955954_508175954_2328874_2324924_n.jpg http://photos-a.ll.facebook.com/photos-ll-sf2p/v248/118/21/508175954/n508175954_980728_9854.jpg

DJing with Live: About to Take the Plunge

Hi everyone. I've finally made the decision to start DJing; and since I've been producing with Live 7 for over one year now, rather than learn how to use CDJs I will be DJing with Live. Hopefully some time over the next few weeks I will be purchasing the necessary equipment. I'd just like to verify ...

Virus TI and Live 7: How do YOU render your tracks?

So, I've finally finished a draft of the first tune I've built using the Virus TI Snow. I went to render the tune as per usual (i.e., export as wave) but of course that didn't work because the Virus does not support offline rendering (the resulting wave was the complete song minus all the sounds com...

Re: VSTi parameter automation

Instead of recording the changes live you can use the pencil tool to draw in the automation for the cut-off filter parameter in arrangement view.
