As long as you are not using USB for your 2nd HDD, this should be fine.
SSD = OS + paging file, Program Data (including Live)
HDD = Samples, etc

Re: 9.04 will not shut down correclty
Do you have any USB devices attached, such as MIDI controllers or audio cards?
Try disconnecting them when the issue occurs, drivers for these devices can stop Live from shutting down.

Re: Is 9.0.4 stable enough ?
All versions of 32-bit 9 have been super stable for me on OSX 10.8.4.
Saying that I only use Analog/Operator/M4L devices/uTonic....I don't use samples so don't have a big library.
I wonder if some people have updated to Java 7 on OSX, which is 64-bit only.

Re: Crash report on/off
Few weeks ago I was asking ab team about a way to disable it, and at this time it was no way to disable it. Thank you for the triks Wj! I will do it for stage time and I will continue sending report that happen during studio time. Fixed! Happy end No problem, perhaps you could create two user accou...

Re: ABLETON + NIO 2/4 + Analog Four Elektron synthesizer
Not a Mac user so I can't help with that side of things. You have two midi in/out from the nio. The nio only has one midi in/out. Have you tried using the second midi in/out. Can you see on your synth if it receiving midi? If so is the synth actually producing sound. Maybe obvious advice but its al...

Re: Mopho synth and Ableton humming
it's not USB itself that causes the humming. for all the reasons you'd blame USB, midi has the same limitations. 1 - turn off your computer monitor to see if that affects it. 2 - plug all your gear into the same outlet, or at least make sure they're all on the same circuit breaker. 3 - go around tu...

Re: ABLETON + NIO 2/4 + Analog Four Elektron synthesizer
Hi,
Sounds like you need to use the A4's MIDI IN, rather than the MIDI OUT, otherwise it won't be able to receive any MIDI data.
Cheers

Re: Mopho synth and Ableton humming
USB can cause ground loops, so the best option would be to use a MIDI cable from your Fasttrack to the Mopho's MIDI ports.

Re: Numerology + Live Users?
I use it standalone, occasionally as a VST in Live . No problems at all, rock solid, good timing in VST and standalone mode, and is very inspiring to use. I am actually close to switching from Live to Numerology, as I ironically find it better for live performance. Customer support is world class, f...

Re: Operator Vs Analog
Let's not forget that Operator can be a 4 oscillator subtractive synth. And although Analog and Operator compliment each other, if I had to pick between the two, it would be Operator. I use Operator for this instead of Analog, the filters sound better to me...I also use it in what I call the "...

Re: New NAS - Disk dropouts
What NAS, switch and computer do you have? Have there been any changes since your last setup, like change of OS? Make sure all devices on the network are set to Auto Negotiation for "duplex" (check NIC settings) and on the switch too, perhaps you have a devices that are being forced to 10/...
