Re: a MIDI keyboard with pads and REAL endless rotary encoders?
my first gen axiom 25 has the "blue screen of death" problem. i loved this controller until it stopped working for no reason. dont get one. Blue screens are usually caused by a driver issue. The keyboard has nothing to do with it. Just make sure you have the latest driver for your operati...

Re: a MIDI keyboard with pads and REAL endless rotary encoders?
I recommended the Axiom PRO, not the 1st generation Axiom. See the link in my post. It has a great keyboard feel, true non-clicking endless rotary encoders, good pads, and the integration with Live through Hyper Control is as smooth as my APC40 (although each unit has its own uses). I have read comp...

Re: a MIDI keyboard with pads and REAL endless rotary encoders?
I recently bought the M-Audio Axiom Pro 61. It has all you described, and it is wonderful.
It includes a Hyper Control template for Ableton Live. Amazing!

Re: Akai EWI 4000S Wind Controller compatable with Ableton?
Both the EWI USB and EWI 4000s work fine with Ableton. You'll need a MIDI interface for the 4000s (no USB connector). The EWI sends a LOT of MIDI data, so make sure you get a decent interface to handle it all. I've used the M-Audio UNO, as well as MOTU Micro Express, and those on my MOTU Ultralites ...

Re: iPad out
I checked the Saffire pro 24 dsp webpage. http://us.focusrite.com/firewire-audio-interfaces/saffire-pro-24-dsp/specifications It looks like you need to set channels 3&4 (your iPad inputs) to high gain in the software. =========== Analogue Channel Inputs (Inputs 1-4) 2 x XLR Mic/Line Neutrik Comb...

Re: iPad out
Your cable looks fine. Is there a software mixer as part of the Saffire installation? If so, crank up the gain (or trim) on the inputs from the iPad. You can also try putting a limiter in your audio track in Live to boost the input signal from the iPad. That will boost your iPad volume, but isn't a ...

Re: 2 keyboards into Live 8: notes hang or latency bad
I'm happy you got it all working. For playing your Fantom through Live, check out "External MIDI In/Out," Section 13.3 in the Live Manual (in the Help menu). If you still have problems with it, come back and get some help. You're very welcome, Marcus. I hope you get a lot of happiness out ...

Re: 2 keyboards into Live 8: notes hang or latency bad
Updating Live shouldn't affect this. I'm still on 8.2.7 because, according to posts I've seen, the most recent Live doesn't handle an iPad app I use. Mduke, can you post a screenshot of your MIDI Preferences in Live? That might help. Maybe a shot with one keyboard attached, then just the other one, ...

Re: 2 keyboards into Live 8: notes hang or latency bad
First, I'm sure the MOTU Micro Lite would give you additional MIDI ports. I have the Micro Express, which is a little more powerful than the Lite, but either will do what you need. No additional MOTU hardware needed, unless you want to add more keyboards than the five the Micro Lite allows. And, it'...

Re: 2 keyboards into Live 8: notes hang or latency bad
You were on the right track if your problem was audio latency. Larger buffers give more latency. But, I don't think that's your problem. I think the problem is in the merging of the two inputs. It sounds like maybe the data is getting scrambled somehow. If the merger is failing to keep track of chan...

Re: 2 keyboards into Live 8: notes hang or latency bad
I don't know if I can help, but maybe we need more info? Are the two keyboards USB or MIDI? Are they connected to the computer separately, using MIDI THRU? How is the merge box set up? You might try running each keyboard on its own port, maybe using a virtual MIDI utility. I don't see how the audio ...

Re: Alternative to Novation SL 25 Mk II with decent keys?
Hi,
I was upset that you altered my post, but I'm over it now. No problem.
I just thought it was nice that someone from Novation was reading the forums and offered to help. You don't see that a lot.
Anyway, I can now better appreciate your twisted humor. I think we may be a lot alike.
