In logic the sound was much clearer, crispier in the high end, so I tried to export the stems in 48Khz/32 bits in Live, and then the sound quality was equal to Logic.

Re: WAV files

XCS wrote:Why cant I insert WAV files into ableton?
If these are 64bit RF64 Wav files, this is an extension of Wav and not the standard Wav format.
Live doesn't support this extension to the Wav fornat. The file extension would still be ".wav" though so you'd have to investigate the file.

Automation lane toggle coming back in Live 10.0.2?

From the 10.0.2b3 Release Notes: Reintroduced the toggle button for showing/hiding additional automation lanes. Additional automation lanes are now unfolded by default. The Show/Hide Additional Automation Lanes button is now always visible when unfolding a track that has been folded by resizing. Whe...

Re: Why do clips start at 1 instead of 0?

But the 1st year starts at the moment you are born, not when it ends. You can count "this is the beginning of my first hour, first day, week, year, etc" ... So this reference is a reference of when things start (not end) - which I see as the same reference used for music. Sure. Measuring ...

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

I've been a Live user since Live 2. The Live 10 upgrade pricing is positively ridiculous. I simply won't upgrade until it's offered at a significant discount (Black Friday?). It's going to be 20% off, just as now. I have multiple friends who say they won't update. They didn't mention the price, but...

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

i think it's also worth noting that the quality of your monitoring system—headphones and/or speakers+room have a large impact on what you hear. this is especially true of speakers in rooms. many people spend big on interfaces and speakers, and ignore or skimp on room setup, acoustic measurement, an...

Re: For some reason, the very first kick is different?

…allegeldy the resolve is to have all your libraries and cache on an external hardrive that is 7500 or faster, and only boot your software from your laptop internal hard drive. fucking bullshit man. Hard drive? You mean to say you're not using SSDs? I picked up a 512GB for about $150 the other day ...

Re: Why do clips start at 1 instead of 0?

Normal people count from 1. Only computers (and programmers) count from 0. So you were 1 year old at time of birth? :P You're not 1 until your first year has been completed, That is true. However, few people say a baby is 0 years old, rather the baby is considered to be newborn, 1 hour old, 1 day o...

The real test is adding test tracks until audio crackles. No need to gauge any meters.

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

Of course, there's also the fact that some interfaces have drivers that are not as good as others and may start to drop out for short amounts of time or even crackle even under mild stress, which clearly affects quality. Yes, but I wouldn't count that as "sound quality". Crackles/artefact...

Re: Sampler 808 clicks when played rapidly

I'm having issues with an 808 bass sample that clicks only when played rapidly (MIDI) However this sample has some attack-time and release, Still, usually working these is how you fix that. Bass region waveform mismatch can be easily heard. It could also be that it's the sample start or the loop po...

Re: Truths about perceived quality in audio interfaces for ITB

…all the interface needs to do is provide high quality translation between digital audio and my speakers + headphone, is paying €800,– for an Apogee interface still an economic choice? Of course I wouldn't want to skimp on something as vital as an audio interface if the sound that comes from my spe...

Re: Live 10 upgrade path

When I consider everything I have ever learnt and focused on in music making and production I quickly justify my decision not to upgrade Live at this price, simply for me it's far better at this point to focus with the tools I already have . That's always a viable and often wise decision. After all...
