Re: Now then, peanut butter and it's close affiliates

I smelled vegemite once, and it nearly made me yaff. UKRuss: I had never heard that name, but it sounds like a perfectly descriptive one. And here is the story I guess, from wikipedia: "On the night of February 1, 1976, Elvis Presley was at his home Graceland in Memphis, Tennessee entertaining ...

How far northern? Because that's exactly where I think I'm going to go, but only as far north as SF.

Re: I'm drunk. Sell me your Sherman Filterbank for $500.

After a round of McGrease and a couple cups of my self-roasted Kenya AA, I feel I can finally take on this thread. We need proof that you are drunk and also a cowboy. Look at my location. Let the fact that I started my own topic be proof of the drunkenness. Get a schipmann ebbe and flut mate, much b...

Re: Now then, peanut butter and it's close affiliates

Regarding the bacon thing, the famous Elvis "peanut butter 'n 'nanna sammich" was not just peanut butter and banana, but also bacon, and also DEEP FRIED as I recall, if you can imagine that shit. He's lucky his ass made it clear to 1977, at that rate.

I'm drunk. Sell me your Sherman Filterbank for $500.

I've put the whole message in the title. I will add this: in my stupor I'm even more certain that my life can't go on without one of these. Since last Saturday, apparently, I suddenly have no musical friends left, no one to talk to...my musical boat has become a pitiful, solitary jet ski. Or maybe m...

Re: Anyone using Live8 with a Mac Mini?

Oh c'mon now, guy, just let a fella exaggerate to stress a point, willya? I've bought about $10,000 worth of apple shit since 1998...I've earned a little badmouthing. edit: upon re-reading your post, I fear you were actually asking me if I think it makes a difference! Sure, I suppose the DDR3 is a d...

Re: Anyone using Live8 with a Mac Mini?

Yeah, they hide it so you're not likely to notice that it has very similar specs to the aluminum one...they want you to pay $300 for that lathe-cut shell and ignore the lack of firewire. Typical apple shit, and it'll be gone as soon as they give the aluminum ones a processor upgrade or something.

Re: Anyone using Live8 with a Mac Mini?

Actually I've heard that the new ones are more of a bitch to take apart. I've had two of them, the high-end first generation one (1.42 G4) and the one I'm currently using as my DVR, which is a core2duo 2 GHz, the couple-year-old version. The first model came apart stupid easy, the second one was als...

Re: Tube Preamps

I have had good luck with these over the past oh, 13 years. They're very trailer, they're not like some Australian boutique pre, extremely unglamorous...but they very nicely warm a vocal, have phantom power, both 1/4 and XLRs, and the tube is very crankable...you can go way beyond "warm" w...

Really? I actually have an instance or two of that in my set...what has it done to you? I've fired it fairly often without any trouble.
