If you read up on the spec of USB-C, you will see that there is a very limited max recommended length, if you want the connection to work reliably.

Places that sell these extra long cables don't care about making that clear to the user. They just want your money!

The Maschine+ is effectively a MK3 when it's connected to USB.

The internals are literally a MK3 with a mini computer in one corner.

After. Activated the unit, transferred loads of stuff onto it, used it a bunch. Saw a video on YouTube about upgrading the storage, ordered a nice big drive and an external caddy. Installed Linux on a spare laptop, cloned the contents of the original drive (in the caddy) to a file on the laptop. Swa...

On second thoughts, I suppose if M+ doesn't have a new enough implementation of Link, it's not going to work in either direction.

If the idea is to have both starting at the same time, why not start the Push from the Maschine, rather than starting the Maschine from the Push?

FYI the Denon Prime series all have Ableton Link.

Should work, but for tracks assigned to outputs 9 onwards (the ADAT channels).

Into the ADAT outputs? Or do you mean plugging them into the master outs of the (in your case) MOTU, which is connected to the Push via ADAT?

Yes, he did say "standalone" in his title and in his original post, but now that he's mentioned the Mac I'm not sure he was actually using it standalone.

Just responding (honestly) to OP's last paragraph about the battery, is all.

Well nobody knows the software to start with.

The learning curve for dropping a couple of tracks in and mixing them together is not steep.

Plenty of results from Google on how to make a DJ mix with Live.

Why not just try it?
