New update : on the top right of ableton ... i can see the midi in light is lighting up when I hit the pads. I have a drum rack loaded with a few sounds on there. i have armed the track. Edit: I have downloaded Midi ox and it is showing the midi signals being recognized -- although with an alarming amount of delay. it's just getting the drum to connect to ableton is where I am not making any progress.

I am not seeing the dd65 (an older electronic drum kit) listed under the control surface drop down on link?midi. How do set it up? I am using midi in/out cable into the midi in/out of audio interface Alesis io2 express. please help. thanks.

did you try opening up a new set, unwrapping show clip fades, saving that as a default template?

you'll also hear people mention this as "rendering" in ableton. ctrl+shift+R, I believe is the shortcut that'll bring up the same menu as mentioned in the above reply.

what audio driver are you using? asio4all?

Sing into your phone brah, that's what I do. make sure you do a couple of takes, though. Don't be shy. you'll get used to the weird looks and social ostracizing...eventually.

in Session View, specifically, is not working for me. I'm having to map the individual track stop buttons. Can it be mapped?

It's just that #From the links Google --> Drumtabs. org --> Songsterr (the first web link that actually has a substantial amount of choices of songs/styles)... # I couldn't figure out how to copy the notations and paste it on something like tabtomidi.appspot or 8notes ... e...

Also: if the tab is not ascii form -- let's say it's on a pdf file, anyone know any workflow for that?

I learned about changing the keyboard mapping and midi controller mapping , etc AFTER i had created a few songs. I saved my new keyboard remote control mapping and midi controller mapping into a new Default template. However, when I open my old projects, they don't respond to my new key/midi mapping...

As opposed to increased the track tempo, which makes the clips play faster?
in the seg. bpm, decreasing the clip bpm makes things play faster. Am i missing some very basic knowledge here? would love to know. thanks
