On Mac the Remote Script folder is located inside the Ableton Live application bundle. To access it, locate the Live application in Finder, right click on it and select "Show Package Content" in the appearing context menu. Then navigate to: /Contents/App-Resources/MIDI Remote Scripts/ 2. ...

This all makes sense why it doesn't happen during live performances. I don't toggle applications then. Strictly stay on Ableton Live App screen.
Tonight I'm going to see if it's Chrome ONLY, or any app. Hence, when Ableton is in the background.

Completely agree. Key words = "Can be..."

Between listening to your mix real time in Live verses listening to a bounced down mix can be drastically different based on the Export settings.
Do you have "Normalize" checked?
What dithering are you using?
What are the other settings in your Export Audio/Video dialog?
