Locking the play button when Djing live
I enjoy arranging my DJ sets live in the arrangement page of Live 7. Is there a way to lock the play button so I don't accidentally get the speaker icon and start play again later in the arrange play?

generally the feeling is that the depth in the bass and the shine on the hi's is faded somewhat ocne the wavs or MP3s are imported into Live. (That is open for debate and I'm not saying I agree one way or the other) But it certainly does add in a bit more sheen and more clarity to the bass IMO. The...

Live's native compressor comes with two Brickwall presets which will do the trick. Most people us ea combination of these two plugs to acheive what you are after (as do I) and I never have my master clipping. BBE Sonic Maximiser followed by Vintage Warmer. I do start with a track faders at -12db an...

Sounds like you need to normalise each clip/track individually like you would djing before you start mixing to start with using the clips indivual out put level. Start using your upfaders to dj too. If you are really lazy slap a limiter on the master but boy is that going to effect the sound if you...

A Plug to prevent the master channel from clipping when DJin
Hi I am currently using either Vintage Warmer or Saturator over the master channel when DJing with Live. This is to prevent severe clipping when 2 tracks are mixing together. The problem is that these 2 plugs colour the mix too much even with every plug parameter set to zero. I only use 1 warp marke...

I know I'm in the minority, but I really don't like Vintage Warmer at all. I use Kjaerhus Golden EQ then PSP Nitro (which has a nice stereo widener) and then Elephant, in that order. I often use Live's Spectral Analysis plugin as well to help me visually see any trouble spots. I rarely use an exter...

Great response Leedsquiet man. I'm only using my mastering chain to get my tracks up in volume and punch in order to get a better A/B comparison against commercial releases. I find that if I don't pump up the volume of my track by using plugs on the mastering channel then its impossible to compare l...

What is you software MASTERING chain?
Mine is:-
Voxengo Marquis - tightening up the bottom end
BBE Sonic Maximiser - sprinkling the fairy dust
PSP Vintage Warmer - Limiting and adding tape saturation
Is that an OK mastering chain?

70's Soul Synth
Hello Could someone please recommend me any soft synth emulations of the synths used on 70's Soul Tracks. I'm not interested in moogs. More atmospheric stuff for distant pads and weird little synth squiggles. Or indeed any soft synths that would complement tunes with all acoustic parts. Cheers dudes.
