But I also vote for a build-in pitch correction, basic, monophonic, fast and easy to use.
Feature-wise like Melodyne Essential, maybe even less, but Ableton style.
Yes PLEASE!!! This would be a game changer for my workflow!

Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

PCMag has listed lack of pitch correction tools as one con of an otherwise "powerful all-in-the-box solution for composing and performing live music":

Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

These days, I have started using Bitwig Studio too. Both these DAWs are amazing - they are easy to use, have great workflows, and give so much creative possibilities! Both of them have comping, but none of them has native pitch correction. The first one who implements native pitch correction will li...

Ableton never has and never will comment on feature requests before they are released.
I can imagine, but it never hurts to ask...

Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

This thread is quite old now and has generated a lot of posts. It would be nice with some kind of response from Ableton. (E.g: We won't do it in the foreseeable future because... / We are working on it now and are aiming to include it in release 11.3 after we have fixed... )

And what happened, if you just drag and drop (or even copy..) the audio from the freezed track to a new audio track ?
Is the latency rendered with the file ?
No, the latency is not rendered with the file - it is compensated for automatically.

Re: Why doesn't freezing a track eliminate latency?

...freezing the track did not remove the latency - to get rid of the latency, I would also have to flatten the track! This has always bugged me too. My work around’s are both quite clunky. 1. Save the offending track into the user library and then freeze and flatten. You can import back into the se...

Since a frozen track can be be unfrozen, the latency is kept so you don't end up with sudden time shifting. That sure is a debatable design choice, but...
OK, I guess that may be a valid reason sometimes... BUT I wish there was a setting to change this behavior!

Thanks for your reply!

Why doesn't freezing a track eliminate latency?

Today, I wanted to record a synth bass live into a set that already contains a couple of tracks. One of the recorded tracks contains a lot of processing that also gives a lot of latency. Since this gives too much latency for recording my bass live, I froze the heavily processed track. I was unpleasa...

Re: Using Push 2 with Fabfilter Mix and Master plugins?

You open the VST, hit the little triangle, and then hit configure You can delete everything that is there and then move the knobs on whatever FabFilter plugin you are configuring in whatever order you want to see them on the push. The first 8 form Bank 1, that you see on the Push 2, the second 8 fo...

All VST's need to be configured Manually to work with Push 2.

Cheers

What do you mean by "be configured manually"? Is that something that can be done by the Push 2 user? If yes, how? Is that documented anywhere?

Using Push 2 with Fabfilter Mix and Master plugins?

I owned a Push 2 for several years, but I sold it since it used up a lot of desktop space and I did not use the pads much. Thinking back at that time, however, I loved using Push 2 for controlling the fx devices of Live: the color display with the surrounding buttons and encoders. I miss this ergono...

Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

but having quality, integrated pitch editing would be way more appealing to me. I've used Digital Performer for it, and it's excellent, and even Reason has fairly good pitch editing (though it definitely struggles sometimes). I'm not a huge fan of having to use a third party plugin for pitch editin...

Re: Ableton live support for ARA 2

I am convinced that native pitch correction and/or ARA 2 support will be introduced in a nearby .x update! By introducing comping in Live 11 (seems very nice btw, thank you so much Ableton!) Ableton have shown that they value vocal recording. And if you value vocal recording, then you also need a pi...
