Re: Upgrade to Ableton 8 or wait?

Hey to everyone, I am thinking to upgrade from Ableton 7 to 8 but as you understand this is a very confusing time for upgrading. What do you think? Noone knows if Ableton will offer a special discount to people who recently upgrade to 8. It will be completely unreasonable to pay now for the upgrade...

Re: Did you enjoy making music when you started?

I recently bought Ableton and I have no experience of doing this before hand. I have been trying every day for an hour or two but and have sometimes felt like I am making progress but in general I can't say I find this fun. I am determined not to give up and have been reading up, using tutorials et...

Re: Props open up Reason to UHE and other developers!

I can't believe no-one has jumped on this! 8O it's really not that exciting unless you got reason. I think it's a great step for folks who only use reason but no really mind blowing if you have moved on from reason. I'm waiting to see what the level of depth the sdk allows developers. The nice thin...

Re: Launchpad on Reason Propellerhead

There is something that a guy hooked up via loopbe (i think). He setup something that would do the rex loop player, kong, and some other stuff. Not a bad and for free. Have not kept up with it but tried it when he first was putting it together. Not sure how it is with reason 6, cause I forgot about ...

Re: bitwig on linux

Honestly my old one was doing GREAT and I didn't even really NEED to upgrade but they're just so beautiful! I mean, the thing is one solid piece of aluminum. The machine is a work of art. That's one of the biggest reasons I love Apple stuff. Even opening the box is an experience. The fucking box th...

Re: Reason Essentials - interesting big price drop to $99 usd

This is quite a bargain for what's included. And probably in response to Apple's Logic Pro / Mainstage price drop. Who will be next? Uhh...you're making much too big a deal outta something rather minor. Reason for 99 bucks would be an interesting thing; Reason Essentials, hardly. The whole reason i...

Re: Night of the Living iPads- iOS etc. and the end of pro apps

ironically there are rumors over on the reason forums saying that props will announce an ipad reason as Messe https://www.propellerheads.se/forum/showthread.php?p=1011275#poststop This makes sense though. An app like Reason with cables you string around etc. is perfect, plus it's CPU light. That's ...

Re: Night of the Living iPads- iOS etc. and the end of pro apps

I agree that the focus of companies will go to apps. They can toss together a cheap fun toy that millions of people will buy without thinking about it and generate tons of cash. I'd do it so I can;t blame them but it's going to be along time before we can have an ipad that can keep up with major pro...

Re: FM8 Tutorials

For some reason FM8 really does not make sense to many people. I love it. Still wish we could get midi out to trigger gear and other synths. I love the arp. Really fun to sound like daft punk. NI has moved it's focus to samplebanks, machine, and traktor I'd love for someone to put up a reaktor site....

Re: ableton should worry about fruity loops not bitwig

No one knows wht's going to be in it for sure and with the new iPad coming up, rumoured to have quad core processing etc, could ableton is just biding its time for the iPads to be able to handle live properly. Ableton should have enough cash on hand to really make live 9 great. If they don't then i...

Re: usage data collection just in betas?

Hi, The automatic updates and usage data collections are available in the current beta only, so far. They will be released at a later point, most probably in the next non-beta version. Regards, Amaury Thanks amaury Whiskey tends to clouds my judgment when I wake up. So is this to see how people use...

usage data collection just in betas?

I'm assuming that this is not in the official releases just beta. Just thought I'd ask since now these are no longer an opt in thing but an opt out.

Thanks

Re: Mountain Lion

I would think it's gotta make it hard for developers to stay on top of things. My rule now is don't upgrade software, vst's os, controllers for at least year after release. I just can't imagine that quick releases like this are good for any kind of users. I'm just afraid that since apps, phones, tab...
