Re: No midi from Mackie Control Universal
Just to state the obvious as I did it once. Midi In on Interface to Midi Out on Mackie Midi Out on Interface to Midi In on Mackie. Those things send a lot of midi data. Can you try and verify if it is sending anything? Maybe try another midi interface and some midi monitoring software. I have one an...

Re: Making digital synthesizers sound more organic
Sure, I have done this before. Send stuff to an amp, send stuff through effects pedals, whatever. It can be fun. However, if I just need to dirty/warm/etc. something fast I will reach for some type of saturation plug. Sometimes I use the Ableton ones, sometimes third party. depends on how dirty I wa...

Re: Best way to make a "VST" of a non-MIDI synth?
Does the synth have CV/Gate inputs? If so you can convert MIDI to that.
The other option is to sample every patch that you intend to use. Probably about a dozen or so notes of each patch.
This can work but it will limit you as you cannot modify the sound.

Re: Multiple MIDI Ins
From the UC-33 manual "Important note: The UC-33 is not a MIDI THRU device and as such, MIDI data received at the UC-33's MIDI IN plug can never be sent directly to the UC-33's MIDI OUT plug. However, if the UC-33 is connected via USB to a computer, data received at the MIDI IN can be transmitt...

Re: Dual monitor setup basic questions
All this depends on the video card itself. You need to find out what make/model it is. It might be built in to the motherboard.

A few different solutions are here. I would make sure the two computers are on the same version of Live and OSX just to be sure.

Awesome I am now much more pleased with the human race knowing that you rigged it.
BTW. You can always just twist the wires together to get a good connection. Sure soldering it helps in conductivity but it is not necessary to do to just get it to work.

Re: iRig Pre microphone preamp with Echo Indigo IOx sound card
The problem is in the wiring of the iRig Pre output. The issue is the iRig Pre is output its audio on a 3.5 mm connector designed for the iOS devices headphone output. iOS devices have 4 indenpendent contacts on their headphone out, audio out left, audio out right, audio in, and ground. The Echo Ind...

Well, you can make the equilateral triangle bigger of course. Are you trying to fit everything on a desk I suppose. If so then get some speaker stands/wall mounts.

Re: Midi Mapping Question
For effects - Put effect in effect rack and map macros out. Name it and save. Drag out of library when needed For Instruments - same thing but use an Instrument Rack. The issue is only eight macros but you might be able to get around this by putting a rack within a rack. Yo dawg I heard you like rac...

Re: Kontakt with Ableton & Logic
They will be saved in your Ableton project if you choose to "Collect All and Save", no? Nope not Kontakt samples or any other third party sampler. Only samples that are in Ableton instruments. Really thank god for that as a 1GB piano sampleset saving everytime I use it would make my hard ...

Most of the time synth porn videos have a pretty boring soundtrack.
Not this time! Great song and video!

Re: FCB1010 users
Are you sending note on info with the FCB1010 presets? It doesn't come preprogrammed like that but it makes it much easier to map things with. Bascially each preset inside the FCB1010 will send a different midi note when pressed.

Re: Dedicated Ableton Program for iPad?
What about those laptops that work as a tablet when closed? they run windows 8 ... would live work with the touch screen on one of those laptops when folded...? You would think it would work right? The problem is that with normal screen resolutions it is rather hard to control Live with a small tou...

Re: Looking for a good guitar sound in Live lite
Yeah, it can be used but it will not sound like what you are used too. They have an amp effect that is ok but I tend to find that the only way to get close is to use a dedicated amp simulator like NI Guitar Rig, Amplitude, etc.
