Re: Puzzling issue - anyone know what's up?!

nah, the 32bit thing is beside the issue. An SSD should be more than able to handle that. (Just doing the math here: in total 30 samples, clips and one shots playing at the same time. A 16 bar loop (ca. 30seconds) at 32bit is ca. 10MB big. So 0.33MB/s times 30 samples = 10MB/s. SATA II is at 300MB/...

Re: Puzzling issue - anyone know what's up?!

and I also learned to use 24bit only. I had issues using/playing two ore more different samplerates (in rare occasions)

Stick to one samplerate for performing live

Re: Puzzling issue - anyone know what's up?!

In my experience I had problems using 32bit samples in large sets. I am guessing somehow, sometimes they ask to much of IO, ram, disk-activity. I have to say that most of my samples in my set are 5 to 7 minutes long. Lots of Mb's are loaded/run at the same time. I try to avoid loading them in Ram fo...

M4L Touchscreen floating window midi-controller device

If possible ?? A M4L device would be great for a touch screen midi controller. It would be nice to have some floating screens on your (second) monitor, put some faders and knobs in it or whatever, some banks, a nice GUI and touch and use them as a midi controller. Maybe some fancy mapping. No extra ...

Re: Using any DAW with a touch screen monitor?

Yes, thanks, something like that. I wonder if it works on a second monitor and it looks a bit toy-ish though. But now I am thinking.... If possible ?? Re: Using any DAW with a touch screen monitor?

What if I do not want to use an I-pad, Android tablet while using an app like Lemur or Touchable but run it all on windows (or osx if you like)? Recently I was thinking about the possibilities of using a touch screen monitor as a second monitor and use it as a midi controller like Lemur (in windows)...

Re: ARE USING LOOPS Acceptable among community

One thing i'm uneasy about is those construction kits i see everywhere where you can create whole tracks using just the loops, seems like it encourages laziness. So what?! Some people are not capable of more, why rob them of the joy of dabbling with music?! It's highly unlikely that they will achie...

Re: ARE USING LOOPS Acceptable among community

I am not fond of the samplepacks with complete loops in it. Using them is imo not creative and/or authentic. Using sample-hits in a creative way will make your music more authentic. Most of the time I "re-design" those sample-hits any way. And I most likely will not use samples which have ...

Re: Live 9 Performance Test

Yes, you are right. All the cores were used. But we are not sure if there was highest cpu performance during the test. Maybe there is Unix check from the Terminal or application for current frequency rate? I can guess that turbo was not used. It seems it was at 2.8 Ghz and not at 4 Ghz. For example...

How about sending your songs to different labels at once? Whats your opinion on that and how would you manage this?

Re: Live elusive "Performance bug"

Did you check at what speeds your cpu-cores are operating ?
Did you check if all cores are being used ?

It is possible they are not operating @ 3.1 Ghz. Maybe your cpu is throtteling for some reason (perhaps heat ?)

Re: Macbook purchasing question

Very good choice.
I think marginal difference is more in real-life. When it comes to music production and stressing out the cpu, you want every power you can get and then you will notice the difference.
