Yeah - I've had a few EPs out on netlabels. The latest is here: http://www.xynthetic.com/xsn043.php
There are a few unreleased bits up on SoundCloud too - see my signature for a link.
Keep writing - you're on to a winner I reckon!

Re: m/com weird beats and strange noises
Your stuff is excellent and right up my street. I especially like Pears and Half Human.
It reminds me of Boards of Canada and Flying Lotus - but more interesting than either.
Do you have any more?

Re: Can You "Draw In" a Detuned Section of a Clip?
^Nah... I meant when editing automation or clip envelopes. Currently, I am using the pencil to move a section and then switching back (with ctrl + B) to move or delete a single point. I'd like to be able to hold a modifier key and have all automation points snap to grid lines.

Cool!
I often have the opposite problem - wishing there was a key command for snapping to grid lines... there isn't is there?

Try editing the pitchbend clip envelope instead of transpose.

Re: pitch detection of samples
Detecting pitch accurately is quite a big job. There are third-party applications that can do it though. "Celemony Melodyne" works as standalone or VST and is probably the most reliable (and expensive). For DJing, there is "Mixed in Key" which detects the overall key of a track (...

Re: Expanding the stereo image
Prior to recording or after? If you are just looking to tweak things a little, have a look at the free spatial enhancer plugin SHEPPI. Used in moderation, it can allow you to adjust the perceived stereo positioning of your tracks with a fair bit of precision. More details, and a link to it here: htt...

Agreed. It is possible to hide them however. Not ideal, but will look tidier.

Re: Plugins
Definitely try to exhaust the Ableton effects first (if you haven't already) - that will help you to assess third-party plugins when you are ready to move on. It's much better to know 1 or 2 plugins inside out than to have dozens to choose from. To that end, go for quality rather than quantity and b...

Re: Trouble assigning pads with padKontrol in Ableton 8 suite
With regards to knob 1 not working - it's worth noting that the knobs can be set differently for each scene, using the Korg editor program. If i remember correctly, in some of the default scenes, knob 1 is set to 'off'. Just thought I would mention it as it caused me some head-scratching when I was ...

Re: Drum rack volume release to max by default?
FWIW the hardcopy manual has this information on pages 191-192 (chapter heading 16.1.1)
Thanks again - I had no idea I could make changes to the default presets.

Re: Drum rack volume release to max by default?
What?!?! You mean I can use this to get around having to set keyboard velocity to 100% (and siblings) every time i make a new drum rack!?!? Oh Happy Day!!! I've RTFM several times over - but don't recall EVER seeing that - thankyou so much! Hang on... I've just turned to page 216/217 and there is no...

Re: where has the midi 'map' tab gone??!!
This happened to me when I upgraded to 8.1.0. I also found that going into and out of mapping mode caused the circular tabs on the left to disappear and eventually crash Live. Totally uninstalling all instances of Live, every folder and file except for the Library, and then reinstalling 8.1 stopped ...

Re: concept behind a and b chance settings
The thing is that you are choosing the odds for TWO possibilities. One is that the CURRENT clip will play again and the other is that some OTHER clip will play. If this OTHER clip plays, the focus moves to that clip and therefore the Follow Action settings on that clip are used for the next trigger....
