Re: kick, snare and sub mix

I think the kick/snare lacks some punch for that genre, the bassline just drowns it. Maybe some more processing on the drums and/or sidechain compression on the bassline?

Re: Big Disaster!!

I also lost my library a few weeks ago. Just like that, the folder just got deleted somehow. But at least I've taken the time to set up Time Machine since that, so now my files are a little more safe ;) I think Ableton should look into this. Pretty critical bug imo. But who knows, maybe it's Mac OS ...

Is Max For Live a good choice for me?

Hey guys, I've been playing with the thought to bux M4L for a while but I'm not too sure about it. I like programming (teached myself a few languages just for fun) and I love building big racks in Ableton Live, so M4L seems like the perfect toy. However, even with the current 150 € offer that is a l...

I just don't get how people can have such feelings towards a OS. Use whatever you think is best.
I own both a Windows 7 desktop and a 2011 MacBook Pro and both have their uses. In terms of real-live (audio) perfomance, my MacBook is winning.

Thats like... Live X...

Ableton should go all Apple on the Live 10 marketing.

Live X.1 Llama
Live X.2 Alpaca
Live X.3 Camel
Live X.4 Snow Camel
Snow Camel got me

Ok, now that I've read through the whole thread I feel it's time to post some pictures of my humble studio. Oh, there is a bed in there, too. http://www.abload.de/thumb/imag0303xjcc.jpeg http://www.abload.de/thumb/imag03070j4s.jpeg http://www.abload.de/thumb/imag0311vk0o.jpeg http://www.abload.de/th...

I think this should be on the Live 9 feature list.

Re: Lost all my Live projects

Yeah, really weird. Whatever.
I'm not sad about the loss anymore. A blank sheet like this is very inspiring and I have started work on a very nice project already :)

Lost all my Live projects

Yesterday I opened Live only to find out that ALL my live projects have been deleted. I have no idea how that happened. The only action prior to opening Live was cleaning the Mac OS X trash, but of course I didn't put my whole projects folder in there. I also did have a Live crash the day before, ma...

Re: Emika style sub

My god, what an awesome track. Thanks for introducing me to emika! I read she is a sound designer at Native Instruments, so I guess she knows her shit. I guess the basic waveform makes a saturated sine wave or a triangle, low-pass-filtered and automated. But maybe she uses some kind of FM to get tha...

Re: 3 videos: 10 minute producing | Making claps | Groove swing

Thanks! Those are very nice vids. I've put together a little Tech House groove by using your tips and it sounds really good. By the way: In your sidechain rack (which I like very much; it's simple & effective), you might want to change the compression mode from FF2 to FF1, as that causes less ar...

Re: Xone K2

This looks really great. I wouldn't use the soundcard, but it might be useful as a backup. The price of the unit (including bag!) is said to be no higher than of the NI X1 alone, so even if I'd prefer a version without soundcard it's allright.

Re: iMac vs Mac Pro

Always take a look at http://buyersguide.macrumors.com/ before buying an Apple product.
As you can see, there might be a Mac Pro refresh just on 15th November. If you don't need the processing power right now and you can live with your current setup for 1 month, you really should wait.

Re: How to pitch bend chords without it sounding like crap??!

I don't hear any pitchbend in the chords. There is some quiet extreme sidechain compression going on, do you maybe mean that?
