Re: iPad, Air Display and Ableton
1) I haven't checked battery life, but there's no reason you couldn't have it charging while in use. 2) That's a really complicated question. Of course things with tactile feedback are superior in certain ways. Putting your hands on a knob and twisting it is always going to feel more like playing an...

iPad, Air Display and Ableton
So Air Display is an iPad app that turns your iPad into a wireless secondary display, with limited (mouse-style) touchscreen functionality. This is pretty incredible for Ableton and VST plugins. I've got my plugin windows all set to open on the second display, and I have hands-on control of my synth...

Re: LFO everything 1.6 ....... faster, simpler, cleaner !
Okay, here's an example of what I think would actually be a good response: "Everybody. I obviously made an error. The reason that I used Edward's code without really thinking about was because it seemed to me that an LFO was such a simple construction, at its heart, that there was no need to st...

Re: LFO everything 1.6 ....... faster, simpler, cleaner !
No, see, that's the problem. "Peace" is a nice sentiment to call upon when it's actually a principle you hold; you know, part of being nice to others (which would also include things like, oh, say, apologizing when you're in the wrong or not taking credit for the work of other people). &qu...

Re: LFO everything 1.6 ....... faster, simpler, cleaner !
I just have to voice, as a member of this community, that I strongly disagree with David's suggestion that this discussion be held in private. It seems clear to me that Julien copied a bunch of Edward's free patch into a patch he was selling, and is absolutely refusing to acknowledge that he did so,...

I don't understand. Why not control it directly, what with it being a Max patch and all?

Re: max 4 live - do i buy simply for expanding live?
I read your request for elaboration and wasn't sure how to answer, but then I went to another thread, and olivierseb said it for me: "As always with Max, you won't find exactly what you need already done by someone else, just because we use Max exactly for this purpose: doing something really p...

My 2c is, "No, you should only buy it if you intend to learn how to use it yourself."

Could sets recall open plug-in windows?
I know this is minor but it's a bit of a pain having to go and open all my plug-in windows every time I open my set. Could this be added to things stored in a set?

Re: buffershuffler controlled by launchpad
Okay, I had programmed what should have been a variable as a constant based on my setup at the time. I've fixed that, and added it to the cycling '74 thread linked above. Try that file.

Re: buffershuffler controlled by launchpad
Yeah, I made one. Go search the Cycling '74 forums. It's over there. I think people had some trouble opening it (I'm new to posting patches), so let me know if you need some help sorting it.

Re: breaking the default knob functionality on an apc40
Works like a charm. My eternal gratitude. You're the man (or woman).
fyi you don't need to bang the "call send_value 2" to 107 every time you send a value to 108. Once is enough.

Re: breaking the default knob functionality on an apc40
I think Ableton would be willing and Cycling74 would be willing but it's Akai who would raise a fuss, probably because they don't understand that being open source is a selling point, and not someone hacking their box. Just guessing. Anyway, thanks for your continued work on the problem, amounra93! ...
