New Live-based netlabel release out now

Damn, I haven't posted on here for AGES...I got a new EP out, 'the hardest working helmet in show business'. It's a free download from www.after-dinner.net/releases . The songs are: Ghost Meat, Waking Underwater, Tho, Transmitters For God. The press release says: "If you fed kraftwerk, daft pun...

rm1x

That's it exactly; if you got one, use it, but if not - get a uc33 or whatever!

rm1x

I also used a rm1x on stage before Live came along. I was first attracted to Live because of it's rm1x-like functions. I did a couple of gigs with the rm controlling Live, but this was in the early days of OSX, and it was too crashy, some core midi problem which is now fixed. I sold the rm1x eventua...

Nice...I like the Apex tho, cos you can (carefully) sit your laptop at the top of the column, so you don't have to carry a board/shelf.

Lotsa other yummy toys on that page too!

People SHOULD express themselves if they're not happy - I wanted to get in my own shot, that's all; Operator has a lot going for it, and in time this will settle down and people will come to terms with it - buy it or not buy it, whatever they choose. Didn't the iPod start Mac-only? Who knows what wi...

Developing and maintaining a product like Live has to be a balance of refinement and adding new features. There are so many requests for new features on this forum that even if no more were made, it would take YEARS to implement them all. AND - why should Ableton implement your/our suggestions anywa...

If you're travelling light, bring a metal sheet music stand - they're just wide enough for a laptop and a small MIDI controller. Lightweight, portable, height adjustable, and CHEAP. Just make sure you tighten all the clamps, otherwise...uh oh! This has all been said before...but also the Apex stands...

Yeah, I think Ableton should call us all individually and ask us what we'd like in our particular copy of Live, so we don't see anything that upsets us.

Sorry, couldn't resist

rewire

Ableton on it's own will do most things...if you MUST rewire, do it to Logic or Reason, they both bring different sounds/working methods that will work fine alongside Live.

WOW! There's so much hostility towards this...it's just a little item in a menu...you don't use every item in every menu, do you?

live/mixing

I'm another who usually ENDS UP in Live, having written parts in sequencers, collected odd bits of noise, etc etc. I have friends with 'better' ears than me who tell me Logic sounds better, but Live sounds ok to me. I've done a couple of remixes for other people, and nobody's ever sent it back and s...
