Re: Transposing large amount of clips efficiently
Consolidate your MIDI clips into one, open that one in clip view, select all notes (in Windows, I just select any note in sight, then press Ctrl-A to add the rest) , then just move the whole selected enchilada up or down by desired number of steps with the arrow keys. Done, transposed. That is what...

Re: Transposing large amount of clips efficiently
It often happens to me that I need to transpose large amount of clips. in one tune lets say in bassline I might have 50 clips or so. I made one section transposed, it does not sound good and now I need to transpose it back to the main key (or other key), like 10-20 clips it would be so convenient i...

Ghost clips (or FL Studio patterns)
This might have been requested before. I recall that in Cubase there were ghost clips (I dont remember the exact name). You can create a ghost copy of a clip. Then you can duplicate the ghost for lets say 50 times. Then when you change something in the original clip, all ghost clips are also changed...

Re: Never produced on a laptop. Mac or Windows?
one more thing that is essential when producing with laptop. You need to have good ventilation and clean the laptop fan regularly. If the ventilation/fan is blocked you will get audio glitches as the CPU will get too hot.

Re: Never produced on a laptop. Mac or Windows?
I have produced with a Windows laptop since 2006 or so. There used to be a LOT of problems. Nowadays things are better If you are to switch to Windows, prepare for much larger amount of work to configure your laptop so that it is suitable for production. You do spare a lot of money. If you are for a...

Re: Live9 very slow with VST plugins...
So, for a test I started with a blank set with 1 MIDI track with Zebra, Timeless and Volcano. Created a 1 bar clip with one note, then duplicated it 80 times. Surprisingly everything worked fine, pretty much the same as a normal set which, for me, usually consists of no more than 24 tracks. I tried...

Re: Live9 very slow with VST plugins...
^ agreed. The spec of your laptop looks fine. Are the system drivers for it up to date, particulatly the BIOS, chipset and video drivers. Also, what plugins do you use? As you're using Windows, what does the Performance tab of Task Manager report when you are experiencing this behaviour? Do you hav...

Re: Live9 very slow with VST plugins...
i think it is time to go 64 bit with strong CPU and SSD and quick RAM then you get normal performance also in complex projects I am on 64bit, with the strongest possible laptop CPU (well there are faster i7:s but the differences are marginal) and Ableton and all its files installed on SSD (and wind...

Live9 very slow with VST plugins...
I have already for a long time complained about the slow performance of Ableton Live with projects that contain a lot of VST plugins. So I thought that I would make a video to illustrate this problem. It is below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWZe2o969IU&feature=youtu.be In nutshell, the prob...

Arrangement view locators with color..
It would be nice if you could assign a color to arrangement view locator (like to a track). This would change the color of the triangle arrow, and perhaps also the vertical line that goes down from the arrow. Maybe even change the background color of the arrangement a little bit (until to the next l...
