Re: iPad1 ok for ableton /audio apps?
It's ok to do most stuff on it. I use an iPad1 for daily use. I use it for OSC/Midi control (TouchOSC for Live and V-Control Pro for Pro Tools 10), reading pdf's/ebooks, playing games and the obvious everyday things one can do on the internet. Safari is about the only app that crashes every now and ...

Re: recording vocals
Why not turn the to be recorded audio down a bit to avoid any clipping?
I wouldn't record anything that clips, especially vocals imo.

Re: solution needed for multiple usb devices
Seriously though - USB hub. It just has multiple input ports and one output - only takes up one of your computer's ports. It seems he already tried that reading his first post but for some strange reason it still didn't allow him to use more than 2 usb devices at the same time. Maybe a faulty port ...

Re: solution needed for multiple usb devices
Yes and I always used a power hub. Looking at your setup I have to admit that my setup was/is quite different. But to give you a idea what can be hooked up at the same time: In the past I had at least 5 usb devices and 2 firewire devices connected to the macbook pro. Nowadays, the laptop has 2 or 3 ...

Re: Midi Sync ?
Thanks Guys... :D When i follow the instructions of setting up a midid keyboard, it's telling me to go to live preferences, midi sync then choose the midi keyboard in the midi ports BUT it's not giving me that option? Sorry about the bitching, I asked/PM'ed the admins to remove the crap :) I'm assu...

Re: Midi Sync ?
Yes, I edited my post more than once and it only says I did it one time. The edits I made were adding back what you edited out and the sentence about you having +22K posts. Yours doesn't say so because of the time in between original and edit and the fact that me or others didn't post before you edi...

Re: Midi Sync ?
people on this forum reply with RTFM :) no, they don't. Show me some threads It was kind of a joke, why do you think there's a smiley at the end? :) But there's also an entire topic devoted to the use of 'RTFM'. And far more others that have it in it's posts. https://forum.ableton.com/search.php?ke...

Re: Midi Sync ?
What do you want to sync? As your talking about a keyboard, you probably want to play stuff on the keyboard and have it trigger/control stuff in Live? If so, you don't need to sync it. You select it in Live's midi settings using the 'track' button and then select it in the desired instrument or midi...

Re: wav to mp3
I use All2MP3 on my mac.
I've downloaded Music Converter from the Mac App Store as well, but I've never used it though. Just an option for you to check out.

Re: Studio Speakers
Subwoofers should be used with care (due to room acoustics for example, bass is omni-directional), they're easily overrated and you can always check the bass end on some quality headphones. I would focus on buying some nice monitors which give you a good indication of your bass. Better to save up so...

Re: Studio Speakers
No.1 question: What's your budget? On average, bigger budget will get you better monitors. Never buy anything just because someone tells you so. Your own room is unique to your situation, if possible always try monitors at home before buying anything. When checking in the store bring along music (qu...

Re: Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro80ohm |VERSUS| Audio Technica ATH-M50
Oh really? Would you have any recommendations for the 150e/$170 price range Fishmonkey? Thanks! How about it's 'brother' the DT-990? I wouldn't use closed back headphones except for avoiding headphone bleed towards mics (or when you don't want to disturb somebody else with your audio). I would not ...
