Re: Questions about what P3S can do
All three devices seem to work on the Push 3. They'd have to be mapped and configured on the desktop version of Live. They can't be mapped on the Push 3 from what I've seen. Unfreeze can be used on frozen tracks. They become editable again. I've tested as soon as I could. It's not that I needed the...

Re: Questions about what P3S can do
You'd be surprised. Mapping doesn't seem to work for most things. Please provide a list of 3-5 devices you want to use. I can check if they work on the Push 3 and if their mapping functions are usable. The three I mentioned - Envelope Follower, LFO, and Shaper - are most interesting for me. Would b...

Re: Questions about what P3S can do
I understand that all Live Instruments and "regular" Audio Effects work on P3S, but do the modulators work (e.g. Envelope Follower, LFO, and Shaper)? I understand that you can not program the mapping on P3S, but can you run patches that have been programmed on Live on the computer? Are th...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
I've received a reply from Ableton support on the ticket related to the bugs and crashes. The reply said that I should wait because the bugs and crashes are being worked on. No ETA was provided. I wasn't told whether this was in the 30 days return window or not. I'll request a return next week so t...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
My suggestion is to write down what you usually do when you put together songs and break down the process into various activities. You can figure out what's possible on the Push 3 and what's not. Great advice, I will probably do something like that! I've done a bit of research while writing that re...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
You can't "add instruments to an instrument rack". By this you mean that you can't create a new chain? I find this harder to belive - this is a very serious restriction and I can not see why this would be difficult to implement. No you can't add a new chain, you can only add devices in an...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
Existing instrument racks can be used on the Push 3 standalone. It lets us add effects and other devices to the instrument rack. It doesn't seem possible to map the macro knobs of the instrument rack on the Push 3. It does allow us to use macro knobs already set up via presets (or in the set). I ha...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
Thanks resequenced for taking the time to reply. I will try to find and read the relevant (for me) parts of the manual. But it is probably hard to figure it all out by reading, I guess I would need to try it in practice to find out if it works for me, but it seems to be quite a bit of a hassle (work...

Re: Ableton Push 3 standalone is buggy and crashes
It'd be great to see the missing functionality added to the Push 3. This includes an arrangement view, being able to put together instrument racks on the Push 3 (to modify them, save them and so on)... Say what? I have considered getting the Push 3S mainly for sound design - to create cool sounds a...

Required force to sustain pads on Push 3?
Can any one who owns a Push 3 tell how much force is required to sustain a note or a chord on the Push 3 pads? I have owned a Push 2 in the past. One reason I sold it was that I didn't like the force needed for sustained notes. On a regular MIDI keyboard (e.g. Novation Launchkey), it is in general e...

Questions about Novation SL MKIII with Live
BACKGROUND: I currently have Novation Launchkey 49 MKIII. I am super happy with how well it works and how easy it is to use, but I consider upgrading to a Novation SL MKIII for two main reasons: * Keys with aftertouch. * Feedback on the controller. I like the idea of being able to read the labels on...

11.2 Reverb appreciation
Just wanted to thank the Ableton team for the reverb improvements! I like the sound, the interface, and several presets. I will probably use the stock reverb more frequently in the future - well done!
