Could we all cool down a little , please .... What's the difference between having midiloops in Live controlling your carefully selfproduced soft-or hardware synth preset ... or looping this prerecorded sample as audio ... . If that's the way you want midi for, I don't think we are speaking creativ...

The "4" in "410" refers to the 2 analog+2 digital inputs... does anyone know if these can be recorded to simultaneously? I seem to recall being bummed out that you could only record two inputs at a time with it, but maybe I misremember. Anyway, if that was the case and if the ori...

To the person who mentioned using primarily field recordings, I can definitely relate to that. The album I am releasing is 80% manipulated/treated field recordings and 20% synths that I designed in Reaktor/Reason/Tassman. Sounds like we're working in similar territory. :) If you want to take a peek...

I am running 10.2.7 (?) on a 15" 1ghz pb... My experiences haven't been the greatest with the indigo io so far. I get erratic (non-repetable) pops and static occassionally during my Live sets. It is not an overload thing as this occurred sometimes even when playing a single clip. I'm not sure w...

......and lets face it, there is a lot of 'Avant Garde' going around thesedays. And dare I say it......some of it is rated as experimental when its really just Plain Bad. :) That's funny... It goes the other way as well... Some poor-quality experimental music masquerades as "avant garde" ...

A few people have suggested recording to the arranger and then rendering the channel with solo on. This works in most cases, but be careful... If part of the effects that you have applied was done with fx sends then that method won't quite work in the way you expect. Soloing a track mutes all other ...

Re: Ozone

My Ozone is indispensable for my live dark ambient sets. Hey nick, Do you play out often with that setup? Where? Have any music out? Sorry for the thread sidetrack but I didn't see any PM options for you and my curiosity was piqued by the mention of dark ambient and your setup. I've got an xl-7 but...

Leaving free behind, dspQuattro is really nice at around $99 I believe. VST (and VSTi as well) and AU hosting. I used it a bunch in preparation for my recent show. I would render several loopings of a clip out of Live and then bring it in to dspQuattro, setup some vst and au chains, and then record ...

I'm kind of in that boat I guess. I don't think that it's silly for you to use a loop based sequencer like Live for non-rhytmic stuff. If your loops are big enough it may not be that noticeable... also with Live 3's ability to make clip envelopes you can create sounds that evolve over much longer pe...

I'll be there for that festival that Detritus mentioned as well, so I'm happy to see this thread! I could definitely use these suggestions. This isn't what you were asking about, but a friend suggested the Museum of Ethnology to me. Might be a good daytime activity. http://www.smb.spk-berlin.de/mv/e...
