Re: Ghosts of VSTs Past... Need an Exorcism on a .als File [Solved]
sorry but I had some kind of pending past participle dangling lonely sentence that I couldn't let stand I dangled, lonely as a participle - William Wordsworth It's nice when you crest (briefly!) at the peak of a technological wave - and get a generational increase in potential productivity/capacity...

Yup! It's really useful and it works really well... EXCEPT for showing the contents of Racks

Re: Ghosts of VSTs Past... Need an Exorcism on a .als File
Why do they hide it so?? :? … So mystery solved. User error. Who knows why it’s a semi-official feature, not yet brought into the fold? Not so much a case of user error, you’re being too hard on yerself! Just one of those things that crop up when you do a platform shift - feels like you do 150% of ...

PaulStretch 3.0.0 is working on Monterey
I'm afraid I honestly can't remember where I downloaded it, but it is working!
EDIT: here, I think: https://xenakios.wordpress.com/paulstretch/

Re: Ghosts of VSTs Past... Need an Exorcism on a .als File
Interesting that this project was originated in 32bit Live. In my experience I’ve had the occasion where some old 32bit things (libraries, drivers etc) got automatically translated moving between different mac systems quite happily, then there’d be a hardware or software change and suddenly the low-...

To help keep track of plugins, do you have Device Slots enabled so that you can see at a glance the plugins on each track? https://i.postimg.cc/C54dhTnS/Screenshot-2022-04-10-at-12-22-37-PM.png Although, to be fair, this doesn't show you what plugins may be lurking deep inside Racks. https://www.loo...

Re: Session clips used to start on next beat?
If all the clips are all set to Global Quantize, is the actual Global Quantize setting set to 1 Bar? https://i.postimg.cc/Y03pFDGp/Screenshot-2022-04-07-at-3-34-05-PM.png There are some key commands that change the Global Quantize setting (see below - CNTRL + number on PC ) perhaps you accidentally ...

Re: Organizing Scenes (Master) in Session View
Hi, welcome to the forum! What I do (and I think many live acts work this way) is assign a MIDI control to each Scene. In my case I use a bunch of MIDI notes from my controller keyboard, one assigned to each Scene. If you enable “Select on Launch” in preferences > record/warp/launch, Live will scrol...

Re: Disable Warp, please
Has anyone found a solution to this? I just want to live record, and everytime I need to cut/move a track (for example; if I record a track, but want to remove a few seconds from the beginning of the track, and then "slide" the track back to the beginning, it changes the tempo in the midd...

Re: Parameter Envelopes and Controllers
Hi
Do you mean apart from drawing in stepped envelopes with the Pencil tool in Live’s GUI?
Or are you talking about hardware input from controllers?

Re: Post your most obscure Ableton Live knowledge
^^ Cool technique! An extension of the 10CC “I’m Not in Love” oohs backing vocals where they recorded single notes to multitrack tape and rode the console faders to change chords

Re: How to Input Only Two Midi Controllers On One Midi Track
You're welcome! I was happy to discover this for myself just now. Actually, there's a simpler way that this works too. In the pic below, the piano Instrument on track 2 receives MIDI from my Fireface 800 via its MIDI From selector, but the MIDI from the Wavestate on track 1 is also getting to the pi...

Re: How to Input Only Two Midi Controllers On One Midi Track
Hi Rod This is working here. I have an Akai APC Key25 and a Korg Wavestate both connected to the computer via USB. They both have a dedicated MIDI Input track set to receive their respective MIDI inputs (the MIDI From selector on tracks 1 and 2), and both these tracks are sending MIDI (via the MIDI ...

Re: HELP: Ableton Live Automatically Speeding up my Samples
Maybe. You might be able to fix it by giving the MPK's pots and sliders, and especially the Pitch Bend Wheel a really good workout. If it's just a bit of dust or clag lodged in there that might fix it. You could also try opening up the MPK and squirting some contact cleaner in there on the pots. To ...
