sorry thats taking so long. i can certainly attest to how anxious you must be; i drove myself crazy waiting for my dual 1.8 to be delivered. though in my opinion having to wait that long does not merit canceling your order, though it does blow. yes, its expensive. yes, its seriously delayed. but it...

also, you don't need another unlock code for your laptop, they will allow a couple of unlocks. they're cool and understand that the people who buy this app usually have more than one computer that it needs to be on, for gigging and such.

when I was having trouble they got back I think it was 2 days max. But I also had to account for the fact that they're in Berlin and I'm in Colorado. Usually though they're pretty fast and are perhaps more helpful and responsive than most emailed tech support.

ya, if you can find live 3 boxed now for $299, it is then only $50-$80 more to upgrade to live 4 and well worth it. i would definitely go powerbook with tons of ram and an external 7200rpm hard drive. i say that from my own experience of switching from pc's to mac last year - i absolutely love the m...

even though USB 2 boasts a 480Mb/s data transfer rate and firewire 400 boasts 400Mb/s, i've read that firewire is still the best/fastest for editing demanding video and audio because the actual data transfer protocol is different between them. though before i knew that i used the usb2 port on my ext...

ya, maybe you're right. that never occurred to me. i always have the activity monitor in my dock. it shows 2 little blue indicators that let me know how hard each processor is working comparitively. for example, when i encode a dvd in toast, i can obviously see that toast is not set up properly to b...

no problem, you were right by what i meant, it was a little vague. i will just do what you outlined. don't sweat it, i'm always eager to push the G5 anyway! it shreads anything i throw at it so far - i've never created that big of a session before so we'll see what happens :)
