Re: How can i make a drum rack?
Hello,
make sure you have the "Full" version of Live 8. "Instrument-, Drum-, Effect Rack editing" is only possible in "Full" Version of Live 8.
Not possible in Live Intro (or lite)
have a look

Re: Any advice on where to begin working with plug-ins for free?
Hallo, my suggestions for "free" synths that sound "commercial" Synth1 - basic but great sound, onezillion user presets. Tyrell Nexus 6 - U-HE (ACE) synth for free, even better sound. Zebralette - another U-HE synth for free, great sound. ValhallaFreqEcho - No synth but a great e...

Re: Rob Papen Predator Review
...Snip.... All in all, it is the most amazing analog emulation I have ever heard. If you want true analogue emulation there is "U-HE DIVA" considered to be the most "analogish" analogue emulation. (today + IMHO) You can demo it for free  http://www.u-he.com/cms/113-diva ...

Fun
ThumbJam - fun app with lots of features.
MobileDAW
BeatMaker 2 - deep, sampling-mpc-alike, great audio rooting options -> if you like to work with samples. go for it.
NanoStudio - like "Reason" on your mobile device! One of the best!
IMO my favorites.

Re: What will be better - Intel i5 2500K or AMD FX-8120?
IMHO you should go the Intel way -> the i5/i7 is a solid solution ... even without overclocking you get great value for money, esp. if you get an i5. Upgraded one of my systems, with i5 2500k/cheap mobo z68a / 8gb -> all for just 300€ and i don´t regret it. But you will miss some goodies like HyperT...

Re: Group Midi Clips
Hallo, there aren´t any "group midi clips" in live, but there is a workaround to play different synths with one midi clip. Check (I/O) is active ( Strg + Alt + I / Mac + Alt + I ) Create a "Midi Track" (1 MiDI*) -> play your notes Create a second "Midi Track" (2 MIDI*) ...
