That problem is related to the soundcard. Check NI's site, there's a firmware upgrade...

audio kontrol 1? I have a fw410 and echo indigo dj. The 410 is ok, but i've never been able to truly get smoking performance (less than 512 samples) decently out of it. And my lappie doesn't have 6 pin firewire, so i have to carry a wallwart, that sucks. And the same applies to any fw soundcard for ...

NI Audio Kontrol 1 (AK1)

So...who has it? It seems perfect for live gigs. Small, sturdy, with a big knob...And best of all, bus powered (important for us PC users that don't have 6 pin firewire...). I wonder how it is performing. Drivers can make or break a soundcard, even more critical with usb...i read about some early pr...

Well, it depends. The southern countries of south america (Chile, Argentina, Uruguay) are a bit different to the hotter, central ones (Venezuela, Ecuador, Puerto Rico, etc). Reggaeton, Salsa, "latin" rythms for instance are as foreign to us as they could be to you, really. Not that they don't have i...

whatever. she has some seriously banging beats there. and there's something about the phrasing of the tracks...in some of them i'd say that the vocal loops are of odd lenghts, so the vocals seem to be like out of phase with the rest, hence making you totally crazy.

M.I.A.

I wonder, who's listening to M.I.A in this forum? I did a search and found no posts. Can't believe it. It's amazing what she's doing. I just discovered her, the whole arular album is a trip...

No, no, i want two different installations. I know it can be done in "normal" PCs, but don't know if it can be done using bootcamp. I want different installations with different software. I do not want my audio xp install with SQL Server, if you know what i mean...

Hi all.
I wonder if anyone knows wether two different instances of xp can be installed on a mac with bootcamp. So, it would be like:

Promoting a live PA. How to explain what we do?

Hi all, I'd like to know how do you promote your live pa gigs. I've been working for some time with a friend. He does a visual performance with resolume, and i do an audio performance with live. We have a set of songs which are turned into loops (bass, drums, yadda, yadda, 16 tracks), and a set of v...

Yeah, i already did the search, here and on google. The situation is not really good, but also confusing. Too many people complaining, but i couldn't seem to get what's the common denominator of the problem. I wanted to asses if i have *some chances* of doing away without having to pay for another s...

I like working with wavs. Its easier on the CPU, you can still have serious fun, and you can get a better sound by sculpting each part beforehand to get a more "studio" sound that fits better with everything else. I've just heard too many Live PA acts with crappy sound compared to a DJ. I totally t...

Thanks both of you for your kind help. In fact, hardware-wise, the 410 seems quite decent (at least in terms of sturdiness), but its drivers seem to be the main problem, which is a shame... At least now i know of two people running it ok, which makes me a bit more comfortable...just a bit... Anyone ...

Any users working sucessfully with macbook and maudio fw410?

Hi, I'm seriously considering getting a macbook (core 2 duo, 2ghz). I currently own a firewire 410, which i use in a PC under xp. I haven't had many issues with it, although it seems that running live at 512 samples or less gives a glitch here and there. I have read some not-very-happy posts on the ...

After years of using Live's plugins, I like the FX-type plugins (chorus, flange, phaser, beat repeat, redux, etc). I do not find the native EQs, compressors, filters, and reverbs to be of sufficient quality for most serious production work. The EQ and compressor seem to suck the life out sounds, an...

Topic: What is you're maximum practical cpu usage in Live?

My experience is that live is quite "heavier" than other softwares, and its overall hability to handle cpu load is weak. I try not to go beyond the 70% CPU mark for production, and I'm constantly rendering back to audio to go lower on the CPU. I'd say that past 85% it becomes quite "funny", while ot...
