Re: Monitoring In The Fake World

i think "accurate" monitors (which are not the kind that all people want or like), should give you a good realistic sonic representation of what your making.. no cuts or boosts in any part of the spectrum that will make your mix sound bad on other systems - in your case on a big theatre sy...

Re: Rumble noise during recording with Ableton Live 9

some things to try:

- try a different output of your synth (headphones)
- unplug to check for bad wiring in your studio
- try a different output for your speakers / headphones.. could be a problem
- make sure you dont have any other input record-enabled

hope that helps

Re: Experimental routing

check out LFOs in M4L if you havent already. Robert Henke made a really useful simple LFO device that you can assign to any parameter... oh and the Multimap device allows you to assign a controller signal to a bunch of different devices on different channels.. very fun - almost as good as having a b...

Re: live setup suggestions !?

yup - if you have different loops for each song use a few scenes . . you can write in the bpm of that song in the master channel.. also check out 'dummy clips' for automating vocal efx. have fun with it!

Re: Ableton>Logic (any logic users on here?)

have been using both in tandem for about 10 years. logic is what i prefer for multitrack recording, some sound design feature and deeper mixing jobs. oh yeah and the ability to use the key commands like zooming in and out, changing views (mixer / automation), tools, chopping, etc.. still make logic...

an alternative bit reduction plug?

can anyone recommend a plug (aside from the native Ableton) for bit reduction?

ive been enjoying the 8 + 12 bit crunchiness of some old outboard stuff recently and would love to have that in the box, and the native one isnt doing it for me.

thanks in advance!

Re: First time composing for a video game, what should I charge?

try to talk to the other composer if you can.

please, dont take 8 bucks an hour.. thats just painful.

and think about when that game becomes a hit and theyre playing your music all over and your kicking yourself..

Re: First time composing for a video game, what should I charge?

there are so many variables in these kind of negotiations; publishing? amount of work? involved in sound design? ive done a few games, and often i end up doing it based on them paying me a good daily rate, since there are often re-writes and changes as the game is getting close to completion. also d...

Re: touchAble 3 is out! Now connects via simple USB cable & more

The feature I am looking for in all ipad apps is: drum rack mixer contro. No one offers it, and I can't understand why since mixing drums is essential and no other controller provides it. I would get any app that did this. . im pretty sure touchable does this - at least in v2 it was easy to open up...

Re: touchAble 3 is out! Now connects via simple USB cable & more

great work guys! keep it up! im wondering if this is a big re-write (as 1-2 was)? i still love 2 and am using it as a very stable performance tool. . im sure you only release things that are very stable 8) but if you can tell me how much changed "under the hood" i would appreciate it. than...
