mavericks bug?
Hey all, have been having a strange problem every since I upgraded to mavericks. I'm using ableton 9 suite and every so often I lose control over ableton. I can no longer move the mouse and pressing the spacebar will neither start nor stop audio. However, once I cmd+alt+esc and bring up the force qu...

Re: Help with Plug-ins!
yeaa what funken said
Get your basics down within ableton (Eq, compression, limiting) then start digging more into plugins.
suite is worth it imo

Re: Drums go into Red Area
to the op, take a look at your drums on a spectral analyzer and see if there are any spikes in certain frequencies. This may be clipping the master yet leaving your RMS volume quite low. I assume you are layering your drums, so try and get a relatively flat response across the spectrum. This will gi...

Re: Limiter is limiting below desired setting! Help?
Those numbers left of the waveform are a ratio I believe not actual db. So 1.0 would be 100% which would equal 0db. If your looking for a db readout look to the green meter above.

record automation on audio channel
Hey all,
this seems like something so simple but I couldn't figure it out last night. I know you can click the overdub button and record envelope automation (with a midi controller) over a midi clip on a midi channel, but I want to do this on an audio channel.
how to?

Re: Ableton EQ Eight problem with mix downs
hey rubber,
ive noticed something similar when using the ableton EQ and have been wondering myself why ableton doesn't have a good spectral EQ.
I've been using the sonalksis MK2 EQ, has a built in spectral analyzer and seems to cut frequencies alot more effectively.

Re: mixdown process
cheers Linear, little bit more information the genre is minimal dnb type stuff. Made with drum samples, some synth plugins. The tune was comprised of a bunch of audio/midi channels generally mixed (compression,EQ, tracks mixed) but nothing on the master (no limiting). I've heard its a good idea to b...

mixdown process
Hey all, so im trying to learn more about the mixdown process and am wondering how others go about doing it? I've got a tune pretty well done (i usually mix eq, compress as I arrange) so Ill bounce out all the files (at 32bit), start a new project and drop in all the stems. Only thing is all the aud...

Re: midi vs audio
I'm wondering if it is better to compress and EQ actual audio rather than triggered audio (midi)?
I've heard of some people working only with audio, and am trying to figure out if it is better in any way?

midi vs audio
Hey all, just wondering if working in audio and midi are the same in terms of using compression, EQ, etc. What I mean is should I bounce the midi data immediately and than apply all my compression, EQ, effects to the audio data, or can I apply all those things to the midi data and just bounce at the...

Re: New to music. Looking for some direction
I'd recommend trying to get involved with your local scene and meeting people who are into producing music. The studio sessions I've had with more experienced producers have equaled months of watching tutorials. I havent tried the online course route myself, but have heard good things about a few of...

Korea bass blog
Hey all,
I'm currently living in Korea and have been DJing quite regularly, so decided to start up a bass music blog.
Not much of my own stuff up there yet, but lots of good tunes.
