Master channel side-chaining!
Hey I just realized after forever that you can actually do side-chaining (e.g. compressor) on the Master channel! When you put a device with a sidechain on the master track, it creates a new routing point in the In/Out dropdown menus. So I just create a new regular audio track I call "sidechain...

Re: Drumrack - change volume of several pads at once?
Hey I just learned this randomly from the manual! It says if you open up the Session View track with the drum rack in it (the little arrow), so each pad is like its own Session view track, you can highlight multiple pads and change their parameters all at once, e.g. volume. Hope this works.

Re: Live 8.1.3 - novation sl mk II what's the deal ?
Man I just stumbled upon that email from Novation telling me my SL MKII will work in amazing fashion with Live now, including automap control of the native plugins and mixer parameters (like it is in Cubase, or so I hear). Then this goddamned thread came along. Ugh! I sure hope you guys are b...

Re: Choke Groups
I'd like to see some sort of global choke command that makes the entire drum rack mono. I use the drum racks for my sample chops and get annoyed having to go through each chain object and set the choke for each cell after I've dragged my chopped sample into the rack from the arrangement view (using...

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
Ahh yea that makes sense especially if you're working with thousands of samples like you say.
Just wondering but how do you keep them all sorted? Are they in folderse by what disc/set they came from mostly?

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
The plus side to distribute rows evenly and having less than 128 samples is if you are using a midi rotary control you don't have to be ultra precise and only move 1 cc at a time. Yea I know exactly what you mean. Originally I actually had the rack set up a little differently. I had the regular mac...

Re: My Drum Auditioner rack!
yeah i mentioned doing something like this recently, best tip i can give is to use samper instead of simpler and spread the samples acoss the keys instead of droping them on pads in a drum rack, its much more memory and CPU efficent. If I use Sampler is there a simple way to map a number of hits ac...

My Drum Auditioner rack!
I'm not claiming to have invented the wheel here, I'm sure others use racks like this too, but I just figured out a really nice rack to audition drum samples! And if anyone has any additions or suggestions I'd love to here them. It's basically like a standard drum rack, but with a dial to ...

Re: Live 8 is still on my computer after installing 8.1
when you install a new version it takes a look at your preferences for the previous installed version of Live and copies them to make use of in the newer version. The new Live app is installed in a new location and has a set of preferences to match. So Live 8.1 will have taken a look at your 8.0x p...

Re: Live 8 is still on my computer after installing 8.1
So how can I make sure I'm not going to loose any of my personal preferences, like Device Presets, Slicing functions, regular audio/gui preferences, Defaults for devices and dropping clips and all that when I instal a new update of Live 8. Right now I have all different versions and I'm afraid to de...

Re: Super-Slowdown when moving warp markers
A little good news. The midi-trigger slowdown I mentioned in my last post is gone now after a restart, but the problems in my original post still remain.

Re: Super-Slowdown when moving warp markers
Hi Eloheim, please remember to post your specs: - which version of Live do you use? - which operating system do you use? Also: Can you reproduce the problem occur with any audio clip on your system? Best, Jörg Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm on XP on a dell laptop with a multi-core intel processor. L...

Re: Drum Racks Utilizing Warp/Time Stretch
First off, I'll give this a general +1. Now a workaround at the moment would be to render your warped track and then slice it up right? But the problem with that is, it not only wastes a lot of time/space/effort/etc., but then you won't be able to change the tempo on the fly later and still have the...
