Re: How to build 8-band crossover?

Here's a tutorial on using EQ8 and Utitlity devices to build a three-band crossover that you should be able to extend to more bands.

Re: launchpad "stealing" track focus

It's got nothing to do with the Launchpad. Look around in the preference for Select on Launch in the Launch preferences and turn it off.

Re: How to emulate DJM-900's Reverb effect?

After having played on them for years before switching an A&H DB2 (pretty much the same as the DB4 but with just two effects channels instead of 4) last year the reverb on the DJM mixers just sounds like a big hall reverb to me, so maybe just start experimenting with different hall reverbs or ha...

Re: Ableton Live from Cubase.. NEW USER

I can't believe no one has said this yet: Take the time to go through all of the built-in tutorials available in the Help menu. Those more that anything will help you get comfortable with Live's user interface and how to do basic stuff the the differences between the Session and Arrangement views, r...

Re: Question about DJing with Ableton

And really man, if you can't DJ all fucked up, you can't DJ. Dear god, the history of DJing is nothing but stories how fucked up famous DJs were when they played. Seriously. Especially when Traktor will auto-sync your mixes for you so you don't even have to pay attention to beat matching (or ...

Re: weird parallel compression issue

Try playing around with the release on your compressor. If the release is letting go while there is sound playing such that when it does it's not loud enough to immediately re-engage the compressor it can create a sort of slap back sound when the volume suddenly pumps back up that could be what you'...

Re: master fader

I work the same way typically, master fader at 0, not clipping any of the track meters while the master meter stays around -6dB or less. My problem is that I often record quite messy with a lot of overshoots on different tracks and different time points. This means I have a lot of clean up to do la...

Are you sure the Virus is set to 48Khz? Live should match whatever the Virus is using, iirc.

How does that prevent you from keeping everything in one Live set?

Re: moog voyager no sound

If you're using the External Instrument device you should definitely not need a second track to hear the audio. The entire point of the External Instrument device is to treat your external device like a normal MIDI instrument in one track. You only need a separate audio track if you want to record t...

Re: Cannot reopen third party plugin by dbl click

Double clicking a plugin from the browser is how you add it to a track, the plugin's window opening is a secondary effect of doing that. Once the plugin is on a track the proper way to open it's window is via the wrench button at the top of the plugin device on the track's Detail View.

Do you have Live 9 Suite, i.e. with Max4Live? I think you could probably accomplish this with the MonoSequencer.

Re: Drum Rack question

Spend some time going through the built-in tutorials available from the Help menu as this kind of "How do I use the program?" type of stuff is exactly what they are for. As it stands, you really haven't given enough information about what you have or haven't tried to for anyone here to be ...
