Re: General question about Key Follow and filter cutoff
indeed, there needs to be a reference point. in Operator and a lot of other synths this is C3. ---> set a filter to 1 kHz and key follow to 100% and at C4 the filter will actually open up to 2 kHz, and at C2 going down to 500Hz Robert Thanks! If a synth doesn't have it's reference point for it's ke...

Re: General question about Key Follow and filter cutoff
For every octave you move up or down from where? Can you give me a couple of examples?doghouse wrote:100% key follow just means for every octave you move up or down the keyboard the filter cutoff (whatever it might be) also changes by an octave. That way the harmonic content of the signal stays consistent.

General question about Key Follow and filter cutoff
Hello, I've got a couple of general questions about Key Follow and filter cutoffs. My understanding is that if you set the filter cutoff to 0hz and Key Follow for the filter cutoff to 100% then the filter cutoff will then always match the pitch/frequency of the notes played and will be applied in fu...

Re: Operator's Coarse and Fine Knobs change notes?
Anything recorded as a clip, is communication between your keyboard and that clip. The only exception would be if you had another midi channel that your keyboard goes through, and then goes out to another channel to record the clip that plays the Operator sound. The knobs do change pitch within the...

This sounds like a question for the main Ableton Tech Support.

Re: Setting up iPad core midi
I've only just started using mine for music but so far I love it! There are some pretty badass synth apps out nowvalhill wrote:I got it, thanks! In this case what do you think about iPad just for music applications, does it worth it?

Re: Setting up iPad core midi
Hey guys, which iPad2 do you recommend, 16Gb, 32Gb or 64GB? I'm not sure which one will be the best for music apps. 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB all refer to how much storage space you get which has no bearing on how the apps will perform. They all have the same processor and amount of RAM in them. ? I kno...

APC40 default mappings?
Does anyone know where I can find a list of default device for the APC40? Am I really stuck selecting each device/effect/whatever, turning the knobs for each bank on the APC40, and flipping through each panel on the device looking to see what's moving when I turn the knob?

Any reason for Griid if I already have an APC40?
Can I use them together, such as to let a friend use one to jam with me? Any other reason for/against the two together? What about the Clip and Mixer add-ons?
