How do I use the KP3?

I've got a KP3 and am trying to integrate it into Live (I'm a new Live user!). The 'ext ctrl' mode is excellent for controlling Live - there's various 'patterns' you can select from the computer editor, which set up the X/Y pad for different applications. My personal pref. is to have it set up as 8 ...

It's hard to quit. But, if you want to do it, you'll do it. Nuff said.

It got to a point the year when I said "I just don't want to do this anymore" and I stopped. The first three days are hard-hard-hard, and then you'll get a hump at about three weeks; after that, you'll be cool.

There's a plugin called 'Magic 8bit' - it's a free AU/VST download. That WILL (no doubt) get you the sounds that you want.

I use an excellent Reaktor beat-mangler on the master channel of Live.

Everyone should have reaktor in their lives!

1) reduced bit-rate on monophonic synth lines.
2) hand programmed 'beats'. Get in there and use your arrange page to it's fullest potential.
3) use your ears.

Well, it's a start...

R5 is great!

Reaktor. Is. Awesome. For what you get, and what you can do with it, the price is not even a factor. The biggest selling point is not the stock library, but the community that surrounds Reaktor. The U/L and resources that are available to users both advanced and new are spectacular...and it's not ev...

The cheaper pack (sans sounds) is D/L only, and comes in far enough under £200 for me to warrant having it.

I've got Logic Pro, Reaktor 5, and Battery so I'm pretty sorted for sounds. It's not like that Sampler or Operator come in the more expensive box any way...!!!

Thanks for the help, gang.

How do you get a boxed version without EIC? AFAIK, the cheaper one is just the download version. I would get the cheaper one. EIC is good (I've heard) for what it's made for but most people don't need it. You can always print out the manual as well. Oh and you get a free upgrade to Live 7! what is ...

Which pack do I buy?

So, I'm going to upgrade from my uber-mini version of Live (the M-Audio 'Live Lite' version) to the full blown Live 6. There's two options available to me: One boxed version (comes in under £200) One boxed version with the IEC instruments pack (comes in over £200) I'm a little strapped for cash, and...

Live Lite 6 & Reaktor 5 - MIDI/Key Help

Hihi. I'm pretty new to this 'Live' lark, and need a spot of help with some Reaktor patches that I have. I'm using 'Vectory' on a MIDI channel, and it's not recognising the key commands to change loops (using C,V,B,M etc... to change the loops). Now, I know that Live uses mapped keys for controlling...
