It's hard to quit. But, if you want to do it, you'll do it. Nuff said.

It got to a point the year when I said "I just don't want to do this anymore" and I stopped. The first three days are hard-hard-hard, and then you'll get a hump at about three weeks; after that, you'll be cool.

There's a plugin called 'Magic 8bit' - it's a free AU/VST download. That WILL (no doubt) get you the sounds that you want.

I use an excellent Reaktor beat-mangler on the master channel of Live.

Everyone should have reaktor in their lives!

1) reduced bit-rate on monophonic synth lines.
2) hand programmed 'beats'. Get in there and use your arrange page to it's fullest potential.
3) use your ears.

The cheaper pack (sans sounds) is D/L only, and comes in far enough under £200 for me to warrant having it.

I've got Logic Pro, Reaktor 5, and Battery so I'm pretty sorted for sounds. It's not like that Sampler or Operator come in the more expensive box any way...!!!

How do you get a boxed version without EIC? AFAIK, the cheaper one is just the download version. I would get the cheaper one. EIC is good (I've heard) for what it's made for but most people don't need it. You can always print out the manual as well. Oh and you get a free upgrade to Live 7! what is ...

@klash - would the 'non-EIC' version not come with the nice printed book, even though it's boxed...

@stonee - what was 'wrong' with them? i've got a huge exs24 library that i don't want to lose, so maybe it's not a worth addition...

Just click around with the small arrows near the boxes; one of them will lose that view for you. Or, just use the 'View' menu at the top...
