Why did you do that?

Re: Change color of clip buttons on APC40
There are only two LEDs- a red and a green. Both lit makes amber, therefore both LEDs are lit when a clip is present but not playing. If you want to mess with that, go nuts. You'd likely have to unsolder and replace all the LEDs.

Re: hmmmmm Apc40
I get 14 ms latency with my APC 40, but I run no softsynths. I run hardware synths as external instruments and Simpler/Sampler instruments. So far, no trouble on my Vista machine. My audio interface (MOTU 828 II) experiences pops and glitches if I leave the WiFi adapter on. Disconnecting from a netw...

Re: *where* to put an APC40 ??
I had pipes and pieces from an A-frame stand and a lot of brackets. About an hour with a hacksaw got me this: http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv133/eddiejg/IMG_0066-1.jpg http://i677.photobucket.com/albums/vv133/eddiejg/IMG_0068.jpg As you can see, I really like the Korg Nano's. http://i677.photo...

Re: playing Live
If you keep an empty MIDI track available, you can drag the entire new set into the running set. Simply drag the set into the empty track, and Live will automatically create new tracks to fit whatever was in your running set. Then, using shift select, once you're in the new set, delete all the track...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
Please consider this a highly official request for velocity sensitivity in at least, some, if not all, of the pads on the Akai APC 40. This seems asinine. Oversighted. Shortcutty. It is IMPERATIVE that these pads are velocity sensitive. I was truly hoping a device had been released that would FINAL...

Re: Ableton Live on Apple Tablet
I have a feeling a Mac tablet will have the same issues a PC tablet has for Live users. Live takes over the cursor when you adjust faders or knobs. The pointer disappears, and when you've finished adjusting, the pointer is back where you started. Therefore, when trying to use a tablet which always w...

Re: Audio card with independant phone out [for cuing]
I just looked up the EMU 404, and I'm finding it only has one stereo output in the form of two mono 1/4" jacks. The SPDIF output in stereo cards is always going to produce the same audio as the analog outs.

Re: Akai APC40 V2 or Future Releases
Really? So you would like to use your many inputs/preamps with the apc40 in a live performance . Go ahead and explain... How many people using the APC40 IN LIVE SITUATIONS will be using multiple outs and multiple preamps? Perhaps a few, but not many. And for that matter, how are you planning to use...

Re: APC 40 FAQs, features and questions
I created a MIDI layout of the APC40 so people can see the note and CCs the controller puts out along with their respective channel. http://www.djtechtools.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1088&d=1244082947 Hope it helps someone out. Is there a way to post a PDF in this forum so that the l...

Multiple Audio Interfaces
I know you can't use more than one audio interface in Live, but someone once told me in some software he uses he piggybacks two identical firewire interfaces and it shows up as a single interface with double the number of channels. Will Live recognize two MOTU 828 mkII's daisychained via Firewire in...

Re: noisy macbook
Sometimes those noises can be eliminated by NOT using a ground connection to wall power. In other words, use a ground lift or the two-prong power adapter. It is possible the noise (which is electrical transients caused by the motors in the hard drive) is being transmitted right into the sound card, ...

Re: Midi experts please chime in.. simple connection ques??
Using a PC with MIDIOX and another MIDI interface to patch MIDI out to the PDX3000 is an option. I don't think there is a non- computer way to do it.
